Speedy deletion nomination of Daniel Sweet prefix:Wikipedia:Deletion review

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Daniel Sweet prefix:Wikipedia:Deletion review requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — Timneu22 · talk 13:39, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you.

The article Dan Sweet has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:40, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • The article did not assert that Mr. Sweet met the notability requirements of WP:BIO. In fact, it affirmatively stated that he was "not well known". NawlinWiki (talk) 13:45, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • No, you have to assert that (and how) he *is* notable per WP:BIO, and you have to support your assertion with reliable independent sources. A 14-year-old actor who would have gotten a role if he hadn't gotten sick does not meet Wikipedia's standards of notability. NawlinWiki (talk) 13:48, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
      • Sorry, no. "He would have been notable" and "he is going to be notable" are not the same as "he is notable." NawlinWiki (talk) 13:51, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning; the next time you create an inappropriate page, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Please stop trying to promote this person. Same goes for the photo upload on Commons. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 16:49, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's inappropriate for the reasons stated. This person is not notable enough for inclusion here. PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:24, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry, but the answer remains "no." You even stated on the Emmerdale page that this person quit the role on his first day on the set. That does not make him a minor character if he didn't appear on camera. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:17, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Dan headshot.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Armbrust Talk Contribs 22:24, 30 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dan Sweet, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

The same reason it was previously deleted: He is not notable. He has no significant roles and none of that information is source. --Esanchez(Talk 2 me or Sign here) 23:10, 10 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
