Faisalabad

edit

Hi. We're discussing this article on the talk page at Talk:Faisalabad, and the feeling so far is that the early history section wasn't actually about Faisalabad and was only sourced to a caste-based publication. So it was both irrelevant for the article, and was not reliably sourced anyway. If you can find any reliable sources that cover earlier history of Faisalabad than I'd be happy to help write a section based on them. Anyway, please do come and join in the discussion and help us decide what's best. Mr Potto (talk) 12:29, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

And yes, we were talking about that Geology section too - there's surely some of that that can be sourced and put back. Mr Potto (talk) 12:33, 7 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Small request

edit

Hi, Ellanorani - it would be very helpful if you would add a brief edit summary before you save your edit. I tend to forget to add one so I turned on the reminder in my Preferences. Following is an example of what you'll see in the Editor section below General options in your preferences tab:

  • Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary <---- check the box for a reminder - it prevents the edit from being saved until you add a brief summary
  • Warn me when I leave an edit page with unsaved changes
  • Show edit toolbar (requires JavaScript)
  • Enable enhanced editing toolbar
  • Enable wizards for inserting links, tables as well as the search and replace function

Thank you in advance.   Atsme📞📧 18:04, 29 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Faisalabad, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Please provide a verifiable source for all material changes. For example, the claim that "Faisalabad International Airport is one of the top ten international airport in the country for air travel." requires citation to a reliable source which may be verified by other readers/editors. Thank you. Yamaguchi先生 21:44, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. List of people from Faisalabad and Faisalabad

edit

Please note that a list of people is there as an index to enable people to quickly find articles. It is not an article and should not be formatted as one with a leader, or summary and references, which should be in the linked article. Accordingly I have reverted your edit and returned the page to a list. At the same time please stop removing images from sections on Faisalabad and then including them in the infobox with captions that will never be seen. Images are far better within and supporting the sections they relate to. I had the impression that you wanted to get the article to GA status, however your current edits are reducing the liklihood of that happning. Richard Harvey (talk) 23:18, 14 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ellanorani, you're getting good advice from Richard Harvey. What the article needs most is pruning, copyediting and citations using RS, which means some time needs to be invested in research. Look at the most recent RS I added. Atsme📞📧 03:55, 15 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
