Do not remove wayback machine links edit

Hi! I saw this edit and reversed it

It's necessary to have Wayback Machine links as they provide a further resource for historical/antiquated topics. If you remove these links, readers will have no idea how to get to the former websites as these sites do not show up on Google. Not everyone is computer literate or savvy.

Thanks WhisperToMe (talk) 04:19, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

There is NO website shown, the archive Wayback Machine shows only a calendar, indicating, how often someone has asked for this site. I don't understand you.--Eisbaer44 (talk) 06:59, 21 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

Disambiguation link notification for December 7 edit

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Edna Alford, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page CBC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Tomson Highway edit

Just to let you know, the external link you added to Tomson Highway's article earlier today is the kind of link that we should be using as a footnoted reference for the article's content, rather than simply listing as a straight external link — it's not his own website about himself (the only thing an external links section should normally contain), but coverage about him in a media source which is perfectly appropriate for use as a footnoted reference. So I've converted it from an external link into a reference (ref name "skallerup", for the author's name) that I've added as a footnote to a few pieces of information in the article that were supported by it but didn't have footnotes on them yet. Citations should cite content edit

Your citation, in the external links section, reformatted the page to break the WP:MOS format, and added extensive commentary into the External Links section. The commentary looks like it could use a rewrite for NPOV and then it could possibly be used in either INM or the White savior narrative in film article. I haven't vetted the source, so I'm not evaluating whether it's WP:RS, just explaining why I didn't accept your changes on on Idle No More. - CorbieV 17:55, 4 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

May 2019 edit

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to The Revenant (2015 film). While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. if it's not yet published, it is clearly not citing content in the article or available for "further reading" and adding it to articles is promotional. - CorbieV 18:10, 4 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

July 2019 edit

Your edit of Bryan Sterling's mother's name edit

Hi, Eisbaer44. Members of Bryan Sterling's family have been having quite an external conversation about your change of his mother's name to Klara. We are unaware that she ever had this name. Could you tell us where you found this, please? Thank you. Loiswingerson (talk) 19:48, 3 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the explanation, which clarifies everything. Kathe (with umlaut) is the German form of "Katie" and short for Katherine. This was Herrman's wife and Bryan's mother--not Bryan's aunt nor Hermann's sister. I personally heard his mother refer to herself as "Katie" many times, most often quoting others as saying "Katie makes a good cup of tea." In other contexts I have seen her named as Ketherine. I suppose we could change it to the German word, but Katherine (the English form) might be just as good. Your other changes are fine. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Loiswingerson (talkcontribs) 15:14, 6 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Rip-Off (film) edit

While your help is welcome, please try to check that you don't end up introducing format errors into an article, and f.y.i. "eligible" does not mean "available". ZarhanFastfire (talk) 03:09, 8 October 2019 (UTC)Reply
