Welcome edit

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. An article you created, Eduardo Reck Miranda (which I guess is about yourself) was nominated for speedy deletion, on the grounds that the article doesn't say why the subject is "notable" (notability is, I regret, a rather complex and not altogether objective criterion (discussed at Wikipedia:Notability). As a Wikipedia admin, it's my job to see if I agree with that assessment, and in this case I'm not entirely sure. So I've asked for the article to be reviewed by the community at large; the discussion will take place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Eduardo Reck Miranda. While that discussion is underway the article will remain, and you're free (and welcome) to make improvements to it (but please don't remove the deletion notice at the top - the admin who closes the discussion will do that). Please don't be disheartened, and don't consider this an automatic death-sentence for your article. Many articles survive "AfD", and of those many are improved by the process. Personally I'd recommend you add to the article as much objective evidence that its subject is, infact, notable. The best thing would be references from conference proceedings, reviews in magazines or newspapers, details of the broadcasts and prizes and awards mentioned in the article, stuff like that. And please don't be offended by any of those expressing an opinion in the discussion; those folks have to wade through a lot of undeniably inappropriate stuff, which unfortunately can make them a little blunt at times. Welcome again. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 21:31, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I forgot to mention - if you want, someone (me, for example) can just move Eduardo Reck Miranda out of the article namespace and into the user namespace, becoming User:Eduardo.miranda. At that new position it wouldn't be part of the encyclopedia, but would instead form your user page, a location many contributors use to describe themselves. This has the advantage that it's not subject to a notability requirement (it's the one page on wikipedia that is, for the most part, yours and yours along). Of course thie disadvantage is that it isn't in the encyclopedia proper, and if you feel the subject is "notable" then the encyclopedia proper is where you're likely to feel it should be. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 21:36, 11 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Comment on Miranda's request edit

Hi, I see you have requested for Eduardo Reck Miranda to be removed from the main encyclopedia. This is a bit unfortunate, as the AfD is still ongoing -- 4 delete vs 7 keep/rewrite. Also note that the AfD process specifically requests that nobody blanks the article while the AfD is in progress:

If you are sure that you want the article removed, please add a comment on AfD. I hope you continue to be involved in Wikipedia. Jayvdb 00:53, 14 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article Reformatted edit

I reformatted your article in hopes that you will continue to improve on the article as it clearly belongs in Wikipedia. The best way for you to do this is follow the eleven steps at link. Also, publications are important, but you need to toot your own horn much more in the text of the article. -- Jreferee 02:33, 29 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
