Pansy Parkinson

"Okay. I see it now. Pansy is in the same graduating class (or Year) as Harry. The way I read what was there it seemed that Pansy was a Slytherin during Harry's (single) year at Hogwarts (without saying if she was in the same class (grad year). Can you confirm that she is a first year the same year as Harry? There should be a more clear way of writing it. Thanks. --EarthPerson 19:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)"

Can I confirm that Pansy is in the same (school) year as Harry? Yes - she attends the same classes as Malfoy (definitely in Harry's year), she is at the First Years' flying lessons. It even said in the article that she was at a Care of Magical Creatures lesson where she did something with a unicorn. The idea that "Pansy was a Slytherin during Harry's (single) year at Hogwarts" wouldn't even make sense - Harry has been at Hogwarts at least six years. Just add 'school' before 'year', that'll make it clear enough. Michaelsanders 20:00, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for the help. --EarthPerson 20:03, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Editing

I received a message about not adding nonsense to a webpage. I've never viewed the page before and certainly would not have edited it. You tracked the edit by IP address but this is my work computer that no one else uses. Because I'm on a network, could the IP address be from someone else's computer? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.73.190.18 (talkcontribs) 20:53, 11 January 2007 Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nicolja (talkcontribs) 20:54, 11 January 2007

Removed The Category

I have removed the category from my User Page. However, I am not going to add "Wikipedians born in 1990" because it would probably ruin the clean look of the page. I'm trying to keep the User Page as clean and as neat as possible so I'm not told to remove material from it. Don't forget to warn other Users who also used the "1990 births" category as well. Kasamh Se article

Hey just a heads up - I noticed some vandalism on the talk page and have deleted it. It was childish and I seriously don't like being told that I'm a moron, and that the author would like to kill me, even if made in jest. This page needs to be watched continuously as I think this is going to continue for a while. I think the people who add the comments page to the article share the same IP address, so probably the same person - any way of complaining to the powers that be if this continues and have the address banned? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kitushi (talkcontribs) 20:02, 14 January 2007 (UTC).

Additional - they've also deleted my comments regarding the usefulness of the comments section, which I will revert. This is the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AKasamh_Se&diff=100708358&oldid=100496132 Kitushi 20:48, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

I saw that too. I've added Kasamh Se to my watch list. You know how to do that, yes? Just click the watch tab at the top of any page and you will be able to see when a page or its comments change. I've not seen if the IPs are all the same or not, but yes, there ways to deal with editors who aren't following the rules. The death threat could get them banned indefinitely. I saw that you reverted the comments. --EarthPerson 23:01, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Re: translation

I'm sorry I can't give you a better translation, but you essentially have it correct, the literal translation is something to the extent of "Bosnia inside hearts, Serbia inside cocks" -- also the 2 words rhyme so it is most likely some sort common ethnic-related provocation term used. The most active native Serbian speakers I have encountered on Wikipedia are User:Hadžija, User:PANONIAN, and User:PaxEquilibrium and one them can probably put it in a better context if necessary. // Laughing Man 18:40, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I will check with them. --EarthPerson 18:41, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Yep, this definitely violates WP:U. It basically means Bosnia's in my heart, Serbia's fucked (kurac, meaning cock, is used idiomatically in this context :)). So yeah, pretty offensive if you haven't been having fun on WP for 2+ years and aren't used to the out-there notions of civility WP users have :)--Hadžija 19:01, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Wow. I'll use your reply here in my reporting of it. Thanks. --EarthPerson 19:07, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Big Boss 0

I am currently envoking the policy Wikipedia:Ignore all rules due to the fact that I havce the artical on my page that these images are used for. It is bettering wikipedia by having them there and my userpage is currently functioning as an artical because I have insufficient information to make an artical. Once I obtain the information there will be an entire page for them. It also helps out if someone sees it that has the information that I need can give it to me. User pages are supposed to be user pages. Not articles. You may want to consider moving your article content to a subpage. But you still can't have the copyrighted images on those pages. Thanks. --EarthPerson 23:04, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Is there a way to stop these images from being listed as orphaned. When your removed them that is what happened. I have also hit a breakthrough in my Creator of Light Horus artical. It should be fully functioning within a couple of days. If you notice that the images are added back that is because I am editing my userpage and will remove them once I am done. This is so all I have to do is revert to the last edit so I will be able to take off from there without problems. Please note when I am not on wikipedia that they will not be on my userpage. But when I am editing it they will be on it. Big Boss 0 14:56, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

The best way to stop the images from being listed as orphaned is to place them in an article. Just go ahead and make your articles and add the images. --EarthPerson 19:39, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Olympics image removal

Hi, I noticed you have been removing the olympics rings image, Image:Olympic rings.svg, from a number of articles "per fair use policy". The image, however, isn't being used as fair use from what I can tell by looking at the image tags. The image is hosted on commons which should not have fair use images. Can you explain? VegaDark 03:05, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I'm basing it on this edit from User:Andrwsc. Also, looking at the green and yellow copyright boxes in the Permission section on the page for the image itself. I admit, the page is not that clear about usage, but I don't believe the image is to be used as part of the medal template. Does this make sense? --EarthPerson 03:21, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm...You should probably mention this on the Administrators' noticeboard and get a few opinions on this before removing any more. If it is fair use, it needs to be deleted from commons (and moved to Wikipedia). Even if it is fair use, however, it doesn't have to be removed from every page as long as there is a fair use rationale justifying it being on each page it is on. If it is a free image (looks as if the tags are conflicting, not sure on this) then it can be put back into all the pages without stipulations. VegaDark 03:47, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay. Will do. If it is okay for fair use, it would be great to make part of the medal template. Thanks for the suggestion. --EarthPerson 03:49, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Here's the entry on the noticeboard. Yipes! Why did I make the question so long? --EarthPerson 04:16, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
And the entry on WP:MCQ --EarthPerson 04:27, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Ah, yes...I knew there must be a better place to bring it to than the noticeboard but I couldn't think of it, hopefully you will get a satisfactory answer there. VegaDark 04:52, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
I'm not the best authority on allowable usage, but I do remember an old Wikipedia:WikiProject Sports Olympics discussion about whether we can use them in the standard "medal infobox" or not. The consensus was that we shouldn't use the image that way. My edits have been to "enforce" the usage of the standard {{MedalTop}} templates to ensure uniform consistency for all athlete articles. If we get some expert opinion that says we can use this image in templates etc., then I would certainly welcome its addition to those standard templates, again ensuring consistency. But I will certainly continue to edit articles to make sure that the standard templates are used, with or without that image. Andrwsc 05:33, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll keep an eye on any comments my post to WP:MCQ gets. --EarthPerson 05:36, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, due to the correlation of edits it is certain that user:72.204.230.216 is the same person as the banned user: Harvardlaw. I'd noticed the account but hadn't spotted the specific edits you pointed out. While he has contributed positively to articles related to wrestling, his previous lack of perspective makes it difficult to assume that he is editing with a neutral point of view. Unfortunately, that makes it necessary to enforce the community ban on him. -Will Beback · · 06:35, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

virgin energy

i noted that you deleted the page virgin energy, maybe you consider this subject nonsense, but this subject is a very serious and valid subject for wikipedia virgin energy was used for hundreds of years as evidence by the rights of kings and leaders to take virgins, and use for their own ends even when betrothed, this practice is still prevalent amongst tribes in south America and Africa. the illuminati who control all governments of the world have ensured that while laws are put in place to protect children, no laws are in place to ensure girls are virgins in western culture, while in Islam, Jewish and Indian cultures this is required In Christianity nunneries were created solely for the reason to harvest the virgin energy, by the higher ranking male members, and there are many cases of recovery and cover ups of newly born bay bodies. also in Christianity we have the virgin mary, supposedly by some esoteric force became pregnant, the reality is that virgins were used for their powers and respected, whereas it the 21st century they are consider an anachronism, however the virgin mary is a well known phenomena, meant to immortalise the power of virgins. latterly in Africa at the current time virgins are being violated in the belief that they can cure aids, phoenixeagle--Phoenixeagle 17:22, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I didn't actually delete the page, I marked it for deletion. It was deleted by an administrator. If you can contirbute to a related article about this subject please do so. You many want to check the items listed under the "See also" section in the Qi article. If you have enough material for an independent article, please remember to cite your sources and to avoid original research. --EarthPerson 17:50, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Ryan Mackman

Earth Person, you wrote to me for trying to delete the page on Ryan Mackman. That is because I am Ryan Mackman. I'd prefer anything on that page pertaining to the Florida Panthers not be on there. Although I did do news broadcasting, I'm only interning with the team and am not a full time media relations rep for them. Either please erase that part of the page or delete it altogether. Thank you.

Ryan—Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.97.153.34 (talkcontribs) 18:06, 14 March 2007

The nice thing about Wikipedia is that you can edit the Ryan Mackman article yourself. (I'm not an administrator, just an average person who edits.) If there is something there that should not be, you are free to remove it. However, please don't blank the article. You may want to take this to the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard and make an entry there. It's not that I don't believe you, but I have no way of knowing that you are who you say you are.
However, looking over the article, it does not seem to be very neutral. Thanks. --EarthPerson 18:26, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Stop your insults.

I thank you for interest but you are a little quick with your trigger finger. I was in the middle of putting up some pages about two notable UK artists when my browser crashed. My guess is that you know very little about modern UK artists and so I suggest you stick to your own areas of specialism.

Thank you. Lulworth 18:42, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. It was not my intent to insult anyone. Specifically, on the template was the text "This article or other page provides no meaningful content or history..." An article with only {{stub}} is certainly lacking content seemed to meet the criteria for speedy deletion. I didn't delete it, I just marked it. Please refrain from personal attacks. If you want to recreate the acticle, please do so and please remember that anyone can edit Wikipedia and there is no ownership of articles. Thanks and happy editing. --EarthPerson 18:56, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Image:Master Li high from falundafa org.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Master Li high from falundafa org.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. coelacan — 17:14, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

User:Parkerfutbol3 just got blocked indefinitely by User:Edgar181. Now you don't have to deal with vandalism on your talk page. Amos Han Talk 20:35, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Yeah. I saw that. Until the next time.  :) --EarthPerson 20:36, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Just to let you know that User:Parkerfutbol3 still doesn't understand that he vandalized your talk page. Amos Han Talk 20:49, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
I think he's just yanking your chain. Best to ignore him. Cheers. --EarthPerson 20:52, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
I even [told] User:Parkerfutbol3 that he shouldn't be vandalizing talk pages because it can offend users. And just to let you know that my username is my inverted name, so my real name is really Amos Han (hence my signature). Amos Han Talk 20:56, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

User is blocked

I put the User is blocked message on the blocked IP talk page because it has been a while since the IP got blocked, but a blocking admin forgot to tag the block message for this IP you were talking about. Amos Han Talk 10:44, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

Endal (dog)

Thank you never seems enough to say to you all but I am truely greatful for all your time and effort, truly humbling to see the article taking shape.(within the rules)

Having had to learn to read and write again because of my head injury, I dont always grasp everything straight away but this has been a fantastic project and one that pushes the bounds

Allenandendal 19:42, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Allen - you are quite welcome. I've made only the smallest of contributions. All the best and cheers! --EarthPerson 20:08, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I Had No Idea

I Had no Ideathat I was creaing a new article . i Simply thought that I was sending a message to that other guy. Feel Freeo delete the article. If you must respond, please reply on my talk page.--MicP 21:25, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Picture Lisences

I Added A couple of new pictures of products such as cds, drink packs, etc.. I bought these things and there are articles on wiki about them. I put them under public domain because I took these pictures myself and cut them down to appraprite sizes. Is this the right thing to do? I mean, I created these pictures of copyright things but the fact still remains, I created them. A quiock response will very much appreciated. I am still working on the Mariah Carey Picture. Here are the pics I was talking about: Quench Aid B'day Double Disc Purified CD Digicel Top-Up--Mikey 21:53, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I would say to check Wikipedia:Media copyright questions - I'm not the most knowledgable about images, but they can answer it for you. I believe that the objects in the photos are still of copyrighted items. --EarthPerson 21:54, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry 2 Bother You Again

Thanks For The Advice. When Will My Question Be Answered? Are You An Administrator? What Does One Have To Do To Become An Administartor? Is It Dependent On How Many Corrections Made To Articles? Is It Dependent On How One Displays Himself (Behavior,etc.)?--Mikey 22:21, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. It should be answered whenever someone gets to it - hopefully soon.  :) No, I'm not an administrator; I'm just an average editor I guess. Check this link to learn more about administrators, including the RfA process on how an editor becomes one. As I understand it, edits (not necessarily corrections) and behavior play a large part of getting the keys to the building, as it were. Cheers! I'm off for a while. --EarthPerson 22:31, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Dankon

Thanks for anglicizing "Eksteraj ligiloj". --Haruo 00:54, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome. I don't know Esperanto, but I could figure what it meant.  :) --EarthPerson 16:32, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Concerning the speedy deletion of the Samuel A. Charles biography

There are various reasons why this article should be retained on the Wikipdia website. The article was submitted based on the request by the community of the Netherlands Antilles so that they may have a reference for the life of a figure central to thier community. Charles was central to the communty of the island nation and was involved in various activities which today still carry his name. Therefore it would be of signifigance if there were a website outlining the legacy and life of the man. Also, the death of Charles created many firsts within the Antillean judicial system; It was the first time someone was charged with a life scentence in the Netherlands Antilles for killing a police officer and the first time a life scentence was subsequently considered to be revoked and denied; it was the first time a killing took place which was directly or inderectly related to racsim within the Netherlands Antilles; It was the first time a police officer was killed in the line of duty on Saba, the Netherlands Antilles and one of only five within the whole Netherlands Antilles. Another signifigant aspect of the article is the adoption of the Netherlands Antilles Police Force of the son of Charles. There are only eight recorded instances when the police force of a whole country adopted the child of a slain officer as is opposed to a particular force or precinct. These are but few reasons why the artcile should be allowed to remain on the Wikipedia Website. References do exist, but due to the amount of time that has passed between the events and the publishing of the article many of the references have been lost or are no longer available.

China country box

Hello Earthperson. Can you tell me where the country box is for People's Republic of China? I can't find it to edit =/ Thanks sir. 再见 Sky Divine 22:43, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I would talk to User:Count de Chagny. They seem to be the person who put in the infobox in the article here on 12 April. Good luck. --EarthPerson 15:24, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Amos Han

This is my previous account, it was blocked months ago for what someone else had done because some serious obsessed guy have used the same internet as me. Why do you want to know? Amos Han Talk 19:45, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Anyways, I gave up that account and created a new one not long ago. Amos Han Talk 19:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
I was just wondering about it. I think that was when I first noticed you or perhaps him on wikipedia. Thanks. --EarthPerson 19:50, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
That kid who is so obsessed with whoever Kate McAuliffe is, he goes to the same school as me. He is extremely annoying. I have used the same IP addresses with that person before. Months after my old account was blocked, I gave it up and created a new account because I wanted to help Wikipedia become a better place again. Amos Han Talk 19:54, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

MATE CAN YOU STOP PLEASE I KNOW IT LINKS TO A DELETED PLACE BUT I LIKE TO HAVE IT THERE CAN YOU JUST PLEASE LEAVE MY TALK PAGE ALONE NOW—Preceding unsigned comment added by Slap the fish (talkcontribs) 20:41, 19 April 2007

I'm letting you know that I've tagged the page for speedy deletion as a courtesy. I thought you'd want to know since you were the author of the page. I've not touched the link on your user page and don't plan to. What I am using your talk page for is leaving you legitimate messages, just as you have done here. Also, you don't need to use all caps. And please get in the habit of signing your posts with ~~~~. Thanks. --EarthPerson 20:47, 19 April 2007 (UTC)==OH ok

oh ok

alright mate i thought you was gonna delete my links and stuff anyway thanks Slap the fish 20:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

For the barnstar, very kind of you and you are welcome for the revert.--Dakota 03:41, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

I put the thanks in the right place and thanks for your good work.--Dakota 22:42, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

wrshogwarts

I suggest that you not delete any of my pages. The page about S Industries is about my company, and all of the information in it is true.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Wrshogwarts (talkcontribs) 21:37, 20 April 2007

Hi there. I did not delete any pages. I tagged the page as a test page and an administrator deleted it. Please feel free to create at will in the sandbox. Cheers. --EarthPerson 21:41, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

I have edited my "Two Million Cho Seung-Hui's" article and removed all reference to the non-profit foundation. I am presently learning how to add the references to the few statistics cited such that they will be wikipedia compliant. Please give me a little time to do so.

Thanks! Terry Brown —Preceding unsigned comment added by TBrown2007 (talkcontribs) 20:32, 21 April 2007

Your creation of 142.227.207.193

I think you were wanting to do this at WP:AIV? But looking at the contribs for that user, it's been inactive nearly a year. What's up?  :) --EarthPerson 00:40, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi EarthPerson. Check out User talk:142.227.207.193. That account is most certainly active, and has been vandalizing pages (see Eric Kroll as an example).--RobNS 00:47, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
See your talk page for my reply.  :) --EarthPerson 00:53, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi EarthPerson, I just tried to do it again (properly I think this time). Is it OK. Thanks.--RobNS 00:58, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
Again on your talk page. No need to paste my replies there to this page. --EarthPerson 01:12, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Message on my talk page??

Hi EarthPerson. Someone with the IP 74.72.138.111 left a message on my talkpage under your username. The message said:

CAN U STAY OUT OF KASAMH SE! N OTHER SHOWS! EVER SINCE U CAME SOMTHIN IS GOING WRONG! --EarthPerson

I immediately realised it was not you and checked the IP. It is the same person who has written under the name of "ExcuseMe" on the Kasamh Se talk page over here. I have no idea what to do now, do you have any suggestions if we should block this IP or do something similar? -- Bhavesh.Chauhan Message Me | Contribs   18:01, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi Bhavesh - I've been on a bit of a break. Have you left the person a message? There should be a template you can use under Wikipedia:Template messages perhaps under Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace. I'll take a look around and leave them a message. Thanks for letting me know. Cheers. --EarthPerson 00:57, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Me again. I've left them a message. Feel free to use the {{unsigned2}} template to correct the entries on your talk page and properly attribute them to 74.72.138.111 if you so desire. --EarthPerson 01:08, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Blimey! I missed it. I'm getting busier in the real world. I've noticed his presence where you showed. Interesting that the message boards are all his own posts. It will be even more interesting when he finally does meet the requirements of WP:BIO and does have an article. Of course, worth mention in said article would be his early attempts at self-promotion and being banned for it. The universe may very well be a loop after all.  :) Cheers! --EarthPerson 21:38, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
