Welcome edit

Hello, Eagleslanded, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.

There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Personally written suggestions instead of a form edit

Dear Eagleslanded,

I assumed your good faith in creating the article David Siminoff and that is why i decided to work with you by reformatting it to wikipedia style. As you may notice from reading this, my personal style includes only capitalising the letter "i" at the start of a sentence or proper name. My own style is reserved for talk pages only.

When i first saw your new article in the list of recent changes i thought it read as merely promotional, something that is outside the policy of Wikipedia, and was about to nominate it for deletion. Instead i have tried to work with you such that when you add something i checked it's reference and formatting style. You have reversed nearly every such edit i have made. Your current version that has external links to the websites for The Stanford Swim Team, The Wall Street Journal and Institutional Investor Magazine [1] purely for the university and publications themselves are links that belong in the infoxboxes of the Wikipedia articles for said subjects. Within an article only the first mention of something is linked to it's Wikipedia article. That is why i removed the duplicate internal links [2].

Also, most biographies of people have an infobox that contains their 'vital stats' as such. I would suggest you review some similar biographical entries such as Steve Jobs and Ted Rogers Sr so that you may familiarise yourself with larger and smaller biographical articles. I appologise as i do not know any in the internet financial field that i could direct you to for comparison.

I would recommend you familiarise yourself with WP:BIO, WP:MOSBIO. WP:NOTSOAPBOX, and WP:NPOV in order to help yourself in writing David Siminoff and future articles. These are some of the most relevant Wikipedia policies that are releated to the article on Mr Siminoff.

Lastly, i would advise you that using the Preview button instead of Save page will allow you to avoid many minor edits as well as test any links or references that you may be adding to ensure proper coding.

Again, welcome to Wikipedia and happy editing.
