Hi, i am sorry if i am contacting you incorrectly but yours was the first email contact i was able to find and i really don't want to spend all that time trying to find out who is the right person. So please forward this email if there is someone more approrpriate to take it on.

I just wanted to make a complaint/raise an issue. You might have a policy on this rendering my problem null and void, I don't know.

I like using wikipedia. I am a layperson but its good to come here for technical information or detailed information on technical subjects. The problem i have is that often the articles seem to be written for professional users rather than your average person. They are often difficult to understand and get any useful sense from when they are of a scientific nature.

It seems to me that when scientists and other specialists write the entries that they are writing for themselves or at least students in the field, someone with a fairly large degree of assumed knowledge.

It would be good if writers could be encouraged to write more for your average person.

Today's query was about glycogen. Last year i read some information about glycogen as an energy source and was interested in finding out about how we burn it for energy and how it helps regulate fat metabolism through exercise. but there was only a tiny paragraph on this aspect of glycogen. The other paragraphs were really quite technical i think.

When i looked up obesity ( i think it was) it was even more difficult to make sense of as a layperson.

I know you rely on volunteers but perhaps if the encyclopedia is intended for general use, tehn entries could at least contain a degree of information written in a manner that your average person with an interest could get something from it. I mean, i still want more than a summarising sentence, i want to how how the whole thing works but in language i can understand.

Admin coaching request

Hi, I'm GorillaWarfare and am hoping to receive some coaching to become an admin. If you'd like to coach me, please leave a message on my talk page. You can see my edit count here but don't be surprised when you see that I have 25 edits. That is because I recently forgot the password to my old account, User:Theunicyclegirl. Here is my edit count from my old account. I almost have 2000 edits. I frequently revert vandalism by watching Lupin's filtered RCs. I also like to expand stubs, particularly those relating to cats or dogs. I am very good with user warning templates and speedy deletion templates. I sometimes respond on AFD.
