Re: Mentorship edit

I'll email you tomorrow when my head is a bit clearer (I'm exhausted and probably am not thinking clearly...), but the short answer is to keep up your good work. I'll reply in detail tomorrow. Thanks! Flcelloguy (A note?) 03:18, 8 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Re: Maoririder mentorship edit

Has anyone said how long this mentorship experiment will last? Is there any critera for deciding that further action needs to be taken? I applaud your efforts at mentorship, but I'm afraid that a month from now, you will be sick of it and Maori will still be exactly the same. I've followed the case of Maori since his first edits and really, the style and substance hasn't changed much at all. Anyway, just wondering if there is a contingency plan... ike9898 20:00, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

ESkog Debate edit

Besides the fact the Royals are a minor league baseball team, you must be jokiing that your work demands more merit on wikpeia as such as the JUCO. None of your work is substantiated or has much impact as the JUCO. Google Juco Express and see what in the greatest search engine ever built, you find the JUCO loud & proud. Dare you disturb the JUCO Universe? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.73.152.81 (talkcontribs)

THE JUCO QUOTIENT edit

ESkog if you understood the "JUCO quotient" which is a mathimatical computation (a modern fantasy Pythagorean Theorem if you will) even beyond my comprehension, you would see how the JUCO's player are drafted and see the pure beauty and essence that extends beyond the world of football and into the metaphysical.

PS. As a former Politcal Science major, I did like your contribution to the Speakers of the House around the World and found it quite insightful

PSS. However, I beg to differ on your opinion of the Kansas Royals, which I understand are a "MLB" team, however, I do believe the Pawtucket Red Sox or Rickey Henderson's championship Pacific Coast San Diego Surf Dawgs could give them a run for their $$. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.73.152.81 (talkcontribs)

Car Sharing edit

Sorry. Housekeeping problem here. This entry replaced by that which follows. ericbritton 22:15, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

== Car Sharing == edit

Sorry but I just don’t see the spam connection. This is an unfunded Open Society project, that has been created a decade ago to help advance this not very well understood concept (your article thus far is proof of that) in cities.

Just curious about your apparently (??) editing out portions of my attempt to bring this entry up to an international standard. The original entries have been cobbled together from a couple of mainly Canadian sources (whom we have worked with and helped since Day 1). But they are really too naive and incomplete to leave standing in a serious reference work of quality. (And by the way our first line reference for our expertise in doing this is as you may have noticed at http://worldcarshare.com. Also for the Forum International de l'Autopartage – http://www.ecoplan.org/autopartage.)

So what do we do now? I certainly do not want to waste your or my time in worrying this bone. I thought it was a good idea to bring in front line expertise (and here I am talking about our guys in the field who are following this). But hey, if you want it your way no problem. But please do let me know.

ericbritton 22:13, 16 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your good comments and explanation. Got it and will do. The ground rules are now clear(er). But we still have a real problem with an as yet quite too narrow description of our entry here. It’s a big world out there and we owe it to the reader to be accurate and at least reasonably complete on what is after all an increasingly timely and important topic (BTW, do you know to the nearest hundred dollars how much YOUR car will cost you this year? Few people actually do.).

I would like to have a solid entry and referral base in this great self-organizing system (not least cause that's what I do in life) – one that will withstand the critical regard of our more than five hundred colleagues world wide who do this for a living. With that in mind, I have gone back into the entry and made a number of judicious additions. Have a look and if there is anything there that is still in violation of your good practice code, let me know and I’ll make sure that we get it right the next time.

LDS Church edit

I am not just dabbling. The content posted was information that is not meant to be viewed and or spoken about by people that are not of our church and are not endowed members. It is freedom of religion and freedom of speech to remove content that is offensive and disturbing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.83.116.63 (talkcontribs)

Dear ESkog, we are not the LDS church, however we are concerned with the source of the information from which these subjects have been created on. If you can find a reliable source from whence these topics have come, that are not simply an opinion or personal experience but an actual source please inform us. However, we as users of wikipedia has just as much right to post and edit the correctness and validity of the posted messages as those you posted the information in the first place. This is not a religous movement that we are about or some sort of purifying movement just simply putting forth the true stance of the intended topic. If someone wants to know the truth about a topic go to the source, that is all we are trying to portray. Please do not take these actions as a movement by the LDS church, because it is not, you share your truth we'll share ours.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.83.116.63 (talkcontribs)

Pronounced English edit

I don't want to sound rude or anything so if I do I apologise. Pronounced English is an idea that I established. I'm not completely sure why it is in the deletion pile. Sturmgrenadier edit

I'm not going to get into a revert war just because I found your revert frustrating. The "elitist cruft" was included so that it would be NPOV. Please review both the page history and the previous debate. Sigh. --Habap 22:57, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Why did you mark the removal of several paragraphs as a 'minor' edit? Reversion of something that is not vandalism would seem to me not to be a minor edit. Oh, and thanks for being reasonable about the content. I think the fact that it stood up with that in there before ('no consensus') will lead to another 'no consensus'. --Habap 23:10, 20 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Link to www.iboai.com edit

Hi ESkog.

Thanks for the message concerning the removal of the www.iboai.com and www.ibofacts.com links from the Quixtar, Amway, Alticor, and Independent Business Owner, Wikipedia pages.

The IBOA International (IBOAI) was founded in 1959 (known then as the American Way Associaten [then the Amway Distributors Association]) when the Amway Corporation was founded. They were designed to function synergistically - without one, the other would not exist.

Over the years, the Amway Corporation has grown and diversified - now, a North American Independent Business Owner (IBO) affiliates with Quixtar (Quixtar and Amway both being subsidiaries of Alticor) instead of Amway.

When a person(s) becomes a Quixtar IBO, by default, they become a member of the IBOAI. The websites www.iboai.com and www.ibofacts.com are the "Official" websites of Quixtar IBOs.

We would not consider www.iboai.com or www.ibofacts.com to be "spam" - we encourage you to peruse our sites to verify this.

Thanks for your effort in trying to keep the Quixtar, Amway, Alticor, and Independent Business Owner, pages clean.

I am not sure if I am doing this correctly, but I wanted to say that I am glad that the accidental changes I made were undone. I actually stumbled across this site and made the change by mistake. I did not realize that data could be deleted like that and while I attempted to undo them myself, I was unsuccessful. Viriditas edit

Read up on the history of all this. In particular, look at the libellous RfC on Canaen.

Viriditas needs to learn a little bit more community spirit and is being taught an important lesson right now.

A taste of his own medicine.

Trust me.195.82.106.47 03:15, 24 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

So does this go two ways? Are you going to inform user Viriditas of this too?
You see, this user has been going about doing just that not just on the topic talk pages but even on other user's talk pages. This is why I say Viriditas needs to learn his lesson through experience. He refused to held by consensus.
