User:McYel responds to User:Alison, User:Crazycomputers, and admins

You probably want to look at WP:ANI#User:McYel responds to User:Alison, User:Crazycomputers, and admins. The diplomas didn't get oversighted. Believe it or not, they were the smallest problems on the page.—Kww(talk) 22:08, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Hmm, he still has too much info to identify himself, his family etc. , but if you guys say it's okay, then i will just leave it at that, i was just concerned about his privacy. Dwayne was here! 22:10, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Blossom watching

I was going to leave you a comment in the edit summary section but I hit edit before I finished. I think the second version is better because flower watching was not introduced by Japan. It was common practice in Asia before Japan even existed as a nation. Plum blossom watching was common in China and Korea, later pasted on to Japan. I think added is a better fit. You can change the wording if you think the sentence sounds weird, I was just trying to make it more accurate --165.214.4.23 (talk) 02:45, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

I'm also not sure if cherry blossom watching was new because there is really no reference which can prove it one way or another. Can't prove one country was the first to look at a flower blossom, that would be difficult to prove. And I noticed there is no reference regarding that, but I will leave it as is, because, I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks --165.214.4.23 (talk) 02:56, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

  • - Hmm, well if you feel that the other revision was fine then you should go ahead and undo. I'm still quite not sure about the cherry blossom, i cant find any sources. Dwayne was here! 18:16, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Mala Lemnah

Mala Lemnah is the mother of Jordan Lemnah, who is on Young and the Restless as an infant. How do i tie them in together, so there is a link on Mala's page when Jordan Lemnah is noted? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mother90024 (talkcontribs) 21:22, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Well on article's we don't normally tie them into off-wiki-site links, we normally tie them into articles and Jordan Lemnah isn't an article yet, however you are welcomed to create it. If you want to link Jordan Lemnah's article into Mala Lemnah's article you can add [[Jordan Lemnah]] like that on Mala's article. I hope this wasn't too confusing, if you still need help, let me know, Thanks, Dwayne was here! 21:27, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Accepted revision on SummerSlam (2010)

Just wanted to warn you, you've currently accepted revisions on this article that appear to constitute an edit war. I have notified the involved users, please be conscientious of any further edits to this article. ialsoagree (talk) 01:02, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

User categories

Dwayne ... I found Category:Alternate Wikipedia accounts of Dwayne in the auto-generated list of uncategorized categories. Subsequently, I reviewed Wikipedia:User categories, my reading of which would suggest that folks are encouraged to add a hatnote or similar to their user page to communicate things such as that embodied in the category you created. I am not going to do anything with the category in question, though, as I am not quite sure what the prevailing consensus on the matter is right now. I'm just bringing this to your attention and asking that you consider the hatnote option as an alternative to the user category option. Regards, ceyockey (User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 08:03, 25 July 2010 (UTC))

I don't see any need for that category. There's one account for crying out loud, use a userbox or something. fetch·comms 17:40, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Hi Dwayne, I'd be happy to help you out but I'm not sure what style such a banner would take - Microsoft doesn't seem to have a unified appearance like Apple's smooth curved shiny boxes. What would you suggest? Also, your WikiProject looks more like a portal. — Pretzels Hii! 03:09, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

UPDATE: - Never-mind, it's okay, someone already made me a banner, if you already have made the banner, let me know and i'll use yours as an Wikipedia ad. Thanks for your interest though. Dwayne was here! 00:13, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Hey, why not?

Bill Clinton has been frequently called highly unfaithful to his wife. Just search "Bill Clinton unfaithful" and find thousands and thousands of hits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.3.13.207 (talk) 08:00, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

  • Srsly? C'mon now, that's obvious vandalism, whether Bill Clinton is unfaithful to his wife or not, it still dosen't belong on the encyclopedia. Try editing more constructively next time. Dwayne was here! 08:03, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
That's the only part I like about Bill Clinton. For me it's a huge deal. 68.3.13.207 (talk) 09:23, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
We have policies proscribing edits like that. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia needs to remain neutral in tone. A statement like that is highly subjective and is more the remit of tabloid journalism - Alison 09:28, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 July newsletter

We are half-way through our penultimate round, and nothing is yet certain. Pool A, currently led by   Sasata (submissions) has ended up the more competitive, with three contestants (  Sasata (submissions),   Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) and   TonyTheTiger (submissions)) scoring over 500 points already. Pool B is led by   Casliber (submissions), who has also scored well over 500. The top two from each pool, as well as the next four highest scorers regardless of pool, will make it through to our final eight. As ever, anything you worry may not receive the necessary attention before the end of the round (such as outstanding GA or FA nominations) is welcome at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews, and please remember to continue offering reviews yourself where possible. As always, the judges are available to contact via email, IRC or their talk pages, and general discussion about the Cup is welcome on the WikiCup talk page.

Planning has begun for the 2011 WikiCup, with open discussions concerning scoring and flags for next year's competition. Contributions to those discussions would be appreciated, especially concerning the flags, as next year's signups cannot begin until the flag issue has been resolved. Signups will hopefully open at some point in this round, with discussion about possible changing in the scoring/process opening some time afterwards.

Earlier this round, we said goodbye to   Hunter Kahn (submissions), who has bowed out to spend more time on the book he is authoring with his wife. We wish him all the best. In other news, the start of this round also saw some WikiCup awards sent out by   Suomi Finland 2009 (submissions). We appreciate his enthusiasm, and contestants are of course welcome to award each other prizes as they see fit, but rest assured that we will be sending out "official" awards at the end of the competition. If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send.
