Darkness edit

Actually, none that come readily to mind. (Sorry.) However, there very well could be something interesting in Negrophobia. It's a common enough subject, though, and there should be ample info on the www. Peace. deeceevoice 22:55, 24 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Oops. It just came to me that I was thinking Afrophobia. deeceevoice 12:19, 25 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

You're a sysop! edit

Hi, Dvyost/Talk Archive 10/22/05 - 11/10/05, Congratulations on Becoming a Sysop

Hey there. I'm pleased to let you know that, consensus being reached, you are now an administrator! You've volunteered to do housekeeping duties that normal users sadly cannot participate in. Sysops can't do a lot of stuff: They can't delete pages just like that (except patent nonsense like "aojt9085yu8;3ou"), and they can't protect pages in an edit war they are involved in. But they can delete random junk, ban anonymous vandals, delete pages listed on Votes for deletion (provided there's a consensus) for more than one week, protect pages when asked to, and keep the few protected pages that exist on Wikipedia up to date.

Almost anything you can do can be undone, but please take a look at The Administrators' how-to guide and the Administrators' reading list before you get started (although you should have read that during your candidacy ;). Take a look before experimenting with your powers. Also, please add Administrators' noticeboard to your watchlist, as there are always discussions/requests for admins there. If you have any questions drop me a message at My talk page. Have fun! =Nichalp «Talk»=

Please also add your name to WP:LA =Nichalp «Talk»= 10:16, 29 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Your RFA thanks edit

Hi. Just one question. Do you think Pat Robertson is right or was it some kind of joke or irony ? - Darwinek 09:52, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

No no. I was just wondering about it. You are interested in African topics. I think Mr. Robertson would be interested in African topics only as a missionary. - Darwinek 16:07, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the userpage fix edit

I almost feel a little sorry for the vandal; he obviously spent a long while getting everything messed up just right. And then you come along and fix it in about 2 seconds. What a waste of his time. Joyous (talk) 22:04, 30 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

HELP!! edit

I need help with the article on Professor Syed Ali Akbar. I keep writing it and it keeps getting deleted. What should I do so that it does not get deleted? Here are the contents of the article. I copied it from the book that I mentioned below. Is'nt that O.K.? After all I did mention the source. And he was my grandpa too so I actually saw him do all these things.

Professor Syed Ali Akbar was born in Hyderabad on 16th October, 1890. He was educated at the Wilson College in Mumbai and recieved the coveted Nizam's scholarship for further studies in England. In 1915 he completed his Master of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Cambridge University. After his return from England, he started his career in 1920 in the Education Department of India and was posted at Gulbarga as the Educational Administrator. In 1923 he returned to Hyderabad and served as the Assistant Professor of History of Nizam College. From 1943 to 1945 he was appointed as the Principal of Nizam College. From 1945 to 1947, Professor Syed Ali Akbar served as the Director of Public Instruction of Hyderabad. After his retirement from Nizam College, he was the first Principal of the very first evening college in India (1949-53). Later he was appointed as the first Principal of Anwar-ul-Uloom College for 14 years from 1953 to 1967.

Professor Syed Ali Akbar attended the Imperial Educational Conference in 1927. He was the author of several books namely 'The German School System'(1932), 'Education under Asif Jah the Seventh' (1935), and 'Education and Democracy'(1945).

He was the Chairman of Idara-e-Adbiat-e-Urdu for nearly 21 years from 1962 to 1983. Professor Syed Ali Akbar was a legendary figure in the educational life of Hyderabad for over six decades. He died on 17th April, 1984.

Howdy! Thanks for checking in with me on this. The problem here is that the article you're posting belongs to someone else; even if you cite them, it's still not ok to copy their article word-for-word. (see Wikipedia:Copyrights for lots more detail on this). What you can do, if you want to put an article up on Dr. Akbar, is rewrite the article--note down the main points in your own words--and then cite it as a source. If you can use more than one source, that's even better. Make sense? Let me know if you have any more questions! --Dvyost 03:24, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

You're Welcome and CONGRADS edit

You're welcome...Congradulations. As long as you don't go declaring PATwas against South American leaders, you should do fine ;>--R.D.H. (Ghost In The Machine) 14:59, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Corbin Chau, Connor Chau edit

Oh dear, the perils of punctuation. I meant the imperitive - "Keep whatever material can be verified", not "Keep this, I have verified the material"... I meant to say that we should trim these articles to only that which can be verified, then keep that, not that we should either keep them in their current status, or delete them entirely. Sorry for the confusion... Of course, it may be that none of this info can actually be verified. Yours, Trollderella 20:45, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

There's clearly no verifiable material there - I have changed my vote accordingly! Thanks! Trollderella 20:48, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Thanks for lookin' out for me. Naw, I'm not going to bother saving it. It's not creative enough/bores me. Besides, what the hell is a "nigger-Jew" (or whatever he/she called me)? Makes no sense unless I'm Falasha/Beta Israel or something. Hackneyed and stupid. :p deeceevoice 13:18, 3 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Of Mali and Mansas edit

Greetings,

I stumbled upon your work on Mali and Mansas, after curiousity led me to wiki Mansa Musa while playing Civilization IV. I noticed that after Mansa Mahmud, the line of succession is designated "unknown". After googling a bit, all I can seem to find are either very short articles about the subject, whose information are already covered in the existing wiki Mali articles, or exact copies of your wikiarticle about Mansas. How can I find out about the line of succession controlling Mali after 1400?

I also made a new category Category:Mansas of Mali.
