Short descriptions

Could I ask you please to check the guidance on short descriptions, so as to be sure that you're applying them in a manner consistent with the Wikipedia community's expectations. In particular, where an article already has {{Short description|none}}, it means that another editor has deliberately decided that there is no need for a short description there. List of tartans

@SMcCandlish no I haven't deleted article content. I would only do that to a page I am very knowledgeable about. I think I just added a short description to the Tartan article are you sure you contacted the right editor.? Duncnbiscuit (talk) 07:48, 9 May 2023 (UTC)

@SMcCandlish this is really unsettling to discover that I could have accidentally nuked the page, given that I was making a small edit to an article description :-(.

@Sturmvogel 66 the source does have exact dates for some but not all the changes of Command. I missed out one of the Commanders because I can only infer from the article and the source timing that they were briefly in command for the Sierra Leone trip, but could not be certain. Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
