Mithril edit war

I notice that you have been continually reverting my edit to List of fictional elements, materials, isotopes and atomic particles. Here are some reasons you should not revert my edit again:

  • If you have actually read the section in the book where mithril is introduced, Tolkien clearly specifies that this is a metal inherent to the series, even giving it's definition in Sindarin (a strain of elvish speech).
  • The main article that WP has on Mithril specifies it as having origins in Lord of the Rings.
  • Removing information from wikipedia isn't improving the wiki at all if that information is true. In fact, its a detriment to the founding ideas of Wikpedia.
  • Since you don't seem to like my other legitimate source, I have added another for your sense of well-being.
  • Edit warring over true information is a waste of both of our times.

Thank you for not reverting my edits again and have a nice day.

I reverted your edit the second time because simply providing a LotR book as a reference did nothing to substantiate your claim that LotR was the origin of the term. Provided the new reference you have provided does substantiate that claim, we're good, and thank you for providing the additional reference. Whether or not Mithril makes the claim, sourced or otherwise, would be irrelevant per WP:CIRCULAR; if the claim is sourced there then the source can be used at the list; if it is not sourced then there's obviously a larger issue. You may wish to review Wikipedia policies, as information that an editor alleges is true but that cannot be verified by reliable sources is not, in fact, appropriate for inclusion. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 21:30, 6 December 2013 (UTC)
In fact, the additional source you provided appears to be a copy-paste of Mithril; consequently I have reverted your addition once more. You are welcome to start a discussion at the article's Talk page if you would like so that additional editors can offer their insights. I'll assume you only looked at the reference in a cursory manner and consequently did not realize that it was a copy of the Wikipedia article. Good day. DonIago (talk) 21:34, 6 December 2013 (UTC)

Metro-North

Regarding my mention on a Metro-North page that Hello Dolly! was filmed at the Garrison station, I don't know why you took it upon yourself to remove said reference. There is a separate page for Garrison (Metro-North Station) that says precisely that - a scene from the movie was filmed there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garrison,_New_York_train_station

Kindly restore my comment.

Firstly, please note that new comments should generally be added to the bottom of Talk pages. Also, it is best to sign them, which you can do by adding four tildes (~) to the end of your comment.
Per WP:CIRCULAR, Wikipedia articles are not reliable sources. If the Garrison article reliably sources the information then you are welcome to copy the source from that article to whichever article you wanted to add the information to (unfortunately, as you didn't link to it, I'm not sure which article you were concerned with). If the Garrision article does not itself reliably source the information, then it should. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 16:35, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

I don't understand your issue with the edit I am trying to make to the "Film" section of this page. I am trying to make readers aware of a possible film adaptation of this novel... why do you assume this is not relevant information? I tried to discuss it on the page's Talk section (as you yourself suggested, if I might add), but you never engaged in the discussion; hence, why I continue to edit the page. Unless you're going to listen to my arguments in favor of my edits, you have no good cause to be deleting my edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Adamzanzie (talkcontribs) 21:26, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

You're talking about one comment by Spielberg made almost 13 years ago. If anything had come from it that would be a different matter. I see exactly one post on the Talk page regarding this subject among the last 500 edits to the Talk page, and it was made by you today. If you raised the topic previously, by all means link me to it, as I'd be curious to see the discussion. If not, then let's give this a few days to see what other editors feel would be the best way to proceed. Thank you for your patience. DonIago (talk) 21:38, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Spider-Man 3

I haven't checked the manual of style, but how does a movie get "generally mixed" reviews? If a movie gets mixed reviews, it means that some reviews are positive, some negative - that's not a generalization. (Or can a single review be "mixed"?) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 21:06, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

You'd have to ask the editor who originally inserted the word "generally"; I wouldn't oppose its removal if you'd like to go ahead and do that. DonIago (talk) 21:16, 17 December 2013 (UTC)

CJ Hobgood christian surfer

Why did you edit? Just check the christian surfer page on wiki, he was already in. Or use google before made this misstake... https://www.google.it/search?q=christian+surfer&oq=christian+surfer&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l2j69i65j69i60j69i61.1770j0j7&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8#es_sm=122&espv=210&q=christian+surfer+cj+hobgood&safe=off maybe you have to check the referencing for beginners tutorial.. --Harukanaru (talk) 11:06, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

As I noted on your Talk page, when adding information to a Wikipedia article, especially a biography of a living person, you should make every effort to cite a reliable source. You are welcome to reinsert the information with a proper reference. Cheers. DonIago (talk) 14:33, 19 December 2013 (UTC)

I read your thing about your revert to the Futurama episode "Tje Thief of Baghead" that revolved around the lenses to Bender's cameras having settings revolving around They Live and The Twilight Zone episode "A Most Unusual Camera." Those additions were only added because nobody else had done it. If you'd like to help find the sources for them like how others have found sources for other popular culture references (including the episodes of that Futurama season that haven't been added yet), go right ahead. Rtkat3 (talk) 11:03, December 30 2013 (UTC)

They shouldn't be added at all unless a reliable source took note of them. Otherwise we're talking about original research. DonIago (talk) 16:15, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
Good point, but the sources of them should be found anyway. Also, why are you capitalizing the I in your user name? Rtkat3 (talk) 11:18, December 30 2013 (UTC)
Because all things being equal my username would be "Don Iago". DonIago (talk) 16:19, 30 December 2013 (UTC)

The Subway (Seinfeld)

I find it bizarre that you have chosen to redirect "The Subway" when every single other episode of the series has a wiki page. Furthermore, the episode is especially acclaimed by various sources. Paste Magazine named it the 16th best episode of the series[1] and NYC & Company, New York City's official tourism organization, named it the "New Yorkiest" episode of the series.[2] --BenStein69 (talk) 20:42, 31 December 2013 (UTC)

I'm not the editor who created the redirect, so it's facetious to say that I chose to redirect the article. That every other episode has a wiki page, if true, could just mean that more episodes should be redirected. WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. If the episode is acclaimed, you should add mention of that to the article as that would establish notability for the episode, something I believe the article is currently lacking, and possibly why it was redirected to begin with. My Family Guy small edit

Sorry for not showing a source for my Family Guy edit about Cleveland returning to Quahog: it is on The Cleveland Show page (Following the series cancellation, it was confirmed that Cleveland and the Brown family would be moving back to Quahog to rejoin the Family Guy cast.)[3] Quizman1967 (talk) 18:20, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Cool. If you want to plug that in as your source I don't think there will be any problems. DonIago (talk) 18:23, 3 January 2014 (UTC)
