skin color relative salience edit

Currently the lead sentence is "Norris Bumstead Herndon (1897-1977[1]) was a light-skinned black businessman of Atlanta, Georgia." Currently I think that is appropriate as so far I understand the color of his skin is notable and salient in his life and how he is generally known. With further research/discussion i grant that it could be appropriate to lessen the salience of that in this Wikipedia coverage. From my reading of sources so far, he was also a gay man, but that seems less prominent. Getting the relative salience of these and other aspects of his life right is an objective for development of this biographical article in Wikipedia. --Doncram (talk) 14:30, 27 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
