Hi Domsta, re-Nefertiti edit

Hi, thanks for posting on my talk page. Yes, I am a descendant of Nefertiti because I am (and both of my parents are) Egyptian. She was Egyptian, not Nubian. But to cut through the chase (given what I saw on your homepage), I don't really do the Afrocentrist debate thing. Nefertiti could have been Black or White, I don't give a damn. Modern Egyptians tend to be very blase about race issues.

I have no idea what the genetic makeup of Egypt is, but it sure as hell has the living daylights mixed out of it given just about every other country has occupied us :)

Hope to hear your views on this soon, since your initial post on my talk page was confusing (I didn't know what you meant, but I just got the ultra-sensitive Afrocentrist vibe).

Thanks again mate. --Karkaron 20:57, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Domsta, what is it you want to find out about the clan system? I am not very familiar with it, but I have been exposed to some aspects of the Saudi clan system. If you are interested, the most organized and intact clan system in the region is probably the Somali one. You can research that a bit more. As far as Egypt is concerned, other than Bedwin tribes (who form 2-3% of the population), there are no tribes. Egyptians identify with patriarchial extended families, and then with the village of origin/province of origin. Things have changed though, and most second or third generation large city dwellers have no real identification with anything but the immediate family. --Karkaron 18:07, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Userbox misalign edit

I think you accidently misalign your userbox. Please look at this code |{{User:OhanaUnited/Userboxes/Protect_Environment}} You should remove the "|" line OhanaUnited 15:48, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not a problem. Look carefully who created the userbox and who asked you to fix it. OMG, it's the same person (aka me lol). Anyways, thanks for supporting the environment. OhanaUnited 03:46, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clans edit

Hello.

I'm afraid I don't have much knowledge of Arab clans. Palestinian clans are defined mostly by the village or town of ancestral residence. For example, the "Tamimi" clan are a Hebron clan. The Khalidi, Husseini, and Nashashibi clans are Jerusalem clans, etc. So a clan is defined by members of a family with ancestral origins in a particular place, and not with genetic relationships to other possible clans in the region. As such, I'm not aware of any interrelated system of clans between Palestinians and Arabs. I suspect that most countries of the Levant (and perhaps the Arabian peninsula and nothern Africa) go by a similar system as Palestine (i.e. hometown of origin), but I haven't been to these countries and don't know for sure.

I hope this helps answer your question. I understood your query to be about possible extended clans across countries, i.e. would a particular clan in Palestine be a local part of an extended clan in other parts of the region? The answer is no, for the reasons defined above. Let me know if I can be of further help, to the extent of my general knowledge. Ramallite (talk) 22:57, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi! I've confirmed from my room-mate (who incidently is an Indo-Mauritian) that Franco-Mauritians do speak French. Thanks for pointing out the mistake. I was also planning to add this link of Le Français de l'Ile Maurice though its same as French. --Victor D 09:13, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Could you please write a stub about my hometown on MFE language here - just a few sentences based on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur%C3%B3w ? Only 3-5 sentences enough. Please.

PS. Article about Kurów is already on 171 languages. If you do that, please put interwiki link into English version. If your village/town/city hasn't on PL wiki, I can do article about it. (I'm first author of requests) Pietras1988 TALK 19:51, 22 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:Dom tifinagh.JPG edit

Hello, Domsta333. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Dom tifinagh.JPG) was found at the following location: User:Domsta333. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 02:49, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Gratitude edit

Thankyou very much Domsta333 for the brilliant translation effort!

I am very grateful.

May you prosper!

I have helped create the Mauritian Creole Test-Wikipedia here. You can start contributing articles in the Mauitian language there. When a sufficient number of articles have been created, the test-project can then qualify to become a real Wikipedia. --Jose77 05:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Kreol Morisyen Wikipedia edit

Hi Domsta333,

Would you like to see a Kreol Morisyen language edition of Wikipedia? If so, would you be willing to contribute articles to Kreol Morisyen Wikipedia? --Jose77 (talk) 01:05, 31 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, how good is your kreol? Oh wait I helped type that small article for you right?
How can I help make it? Sa ki bon! Domsta333 (talk) 13:53, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Unfortunately I cannot speak kreol. That is why your help is needed. And yes, you were the one who helped me translate that small article several months ago.
I have posted the Request for the Creation of Morisyen Wikipedia Here.
To qualify for approval, these 485 most-used interface messages need been translated into Kreol Morisyen.
To translate those system messages, simply follow these steps. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask me. --Jose77 (talk) 00:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

In the meantime, I can help out in some of the translation work into Kreol Morisyen because I also have translators' priviledges on Betawiki.

Could you give me the Kreol translation equivalents for the following words:

Europe is, by convention, one of the world's seven continents. Comprising the westernmost peninsula of Eurasia, Europe is generally divided from Asia to its east by the water divide of the Ural Mountains, the Ural River, the Caspian Sea, and by the Caucasus Mountains to the southeast. Europe is washed upon to the north by the Arctic Ocean, to the west by the Atlantic Ocean, to the south by the Mediterranean Sea, and to the southeast by the Black Sea and the waterways connecting it to the Mediterranean.

Speedy deletion nomination of User mfe-2 edit

A tag has been placed on User mfe-2 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
