Speedy deletion nomination of Family Planning Association of India, Pune Branch edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Family Planning Association of India, Pune Branch requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. June 2015 edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Family Planning Association India a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 17:31, 21 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Dmateh (talk) 18:07, 21 June 2015 (UTC)Dmateh: Yes, since I'm a new user and did not have an account 4 days old nor 10 edits I read that I couldn't change the title. Hence I changed the title in a different way by the cut-and-paste move. Since I figured the result would be the same I didn't think it mattered. Since the title was wrong (the organisation has the word "of" in its name) I changed it in the way I though would be quickest and easiest. I will do it in the better way in the future now that my account is authorized to do so.Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Savitribai Phule Pune University, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you!   Please do not add or change content, as you did at Savitribai Phule Pune University, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Psychonaut (talk) 08:15, 10 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your recent retaliatory blanking on Savitribai Phule Pune University—do not do that again. As I already explained on my talk page, this behaviour is considered disruptive. You will be blocked from editing if you continue. —Psychonaut (talk) 14:17, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
So your deletion of my editing is ok because I didn't reference it, but my deletion of the unreferenced material on the page is NOT ok? Seems extremely biased. Dmateh (talk) 08:37, 14 October 2015 (UTC)DmatehReply
In the meantime I have put up my content again which you unfairly deleted.

There are two options here: 1, I have the right to put up my content without a source, or 2, I have the right to delete all unsourced material on the page.

Everything else would be unfair and there is really nothing you can say against this argument. Dmateh (talk) 13:10, 14 October 2015 (UTC)DmatehReply

I've raised the matter of your behaviour at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Dmateh. Feel free to contribute there. —Psychonaut (talk) 16:25, 14 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

October 2015 edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Savitribai Phule Pune University. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Liz Read!
