THE STORY OF DENNIS SCHLEICHER CONVERSION edit

Dennis Schleicher is a gay convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who has become an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and a popular motivational speaker.

Schleicher was seventeen when he became the victim of a hate crime in high school, which left him devastated. However, he turned this event into an asset, catapulting him to international TV appearances on programs such as Larry King Live and Sally Jessy Raphael. He is now referred to as a "Pioneer of Diversity."

In 2019, Schleicher published his memoir Is He Nuts?: Why a Gay Man Would Become a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ, in which he discusses his journey from being a gay teenager to becoming a member of the LDS Church. In the book, Schleicher shares his experiences with conversion therapy, bullying, and overcoming self-doubt. He also provides an overview of the beliefs and practices of the LDS Church from a LGBTQ+ perspective.

Schleicher is an interesting figure in the history of LGBTQ+ rights and the Mormon church. His story challenges conventional ideas about both groups, and provides a unique perspective on how they can intersect and interact.
