Yakutat edit
See the Census-designated place article. The official U.S. Census Bureau Boundary Map of Yakutat is at http://www2.census.gov/geo/pvs/bas/bas13/st02_ak/cou/c02282_yakutat/BAS13C20228200000_000.pdf The white area is the Borough of Yakutat; the brown area is Yakutat CDP, which the Census Bureau has determined is the appropriate city-level entity for statistical purposes. Ed Ricketts edit
I disagree that background information about the father of the subject is "off topic".[1] Viriditas (talk) 06:33, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'm a bit confused by your post. This edit removed material about what specific research Ricketts' ex-wife's subsequent husband accomplished. Is that who you meant by "the father"? Dleit Ḵaa (talk) 23:04, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Then perhaps there is a language barrier. In the English language encyclopedia, there is nothing "off topic" about providing background information about the parents or relatives. It doesn't matter that it was the "ex-wife's subsequent husband". In fact, it is good encyclopedic style to give the reader background information. Viriditas (talk) 23:21, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
- Pardon, my confusion was over why you used the word father to describe the subsequent husband of Ricketts' ex-wife. But, now that you mention it, perhaps I should have used the word "notable" instead of "off topic". Ricketts' ex-wife's subsequent husband has his own article which is very nicely wlinked in the text. If a reader is interested in that person, they can easily click through to learn about him. I guess my understanding of good encyclopedic style would assume that a reader who is reading an article on Ricketts would not want to be burdened with having to slog through the research interests of a person so far removed from Ricketts' life, especially when there is no stated evidence in the article of them ever having even met.
