False authorship claim for Image:Inside_Temple.jpg edit

You uploaded Image:Inside_Temple.jpg and claimed it as your own work, but this is fraud. I, Peter J. de Bruin, am the creator of this work. The original in higher resolution is to be found on my photo site, the camera identified in the image metadata is my camera, and the people on the image are friends of mine.

I am not pleased with this. You could have asked me. I would be willing to release the image to the public domain, but I would have asked permission of the people appearing on the picture. The image has already been dispersed on the net, so that would be useless now.

Don't know what to do now. Peter J. de Bruin (talk) 22:10, 3 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:456MandalaA.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:456MandalaA.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Arbëríshte edit

Hi, I think your new page at Arbëríshte doesn't make too much sense in this sub-stub form. I think we should turn it into one of the following:

  • A redirect to Arbëreshë (the Italian group)
  • A redirect to Arvanitic language (the Greek one)
  • A disambiguation page linking to both of these two.

Which would you prefer? Fut.Perf. 16:12, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi.

Arbëríshte IS actually the name of the language that the Arberesh people speak, it is my mother tongue and I would like to correct the erroneous definition of "Arberesh" as a language, it is not.

Arbërishte edit

Hi, thanks for your note. Now that you've expanded it into an actual article, that's absolutely fine with me. Thanks for your work! There's just a few technical points we'll have to work out. First, spelling: Last time I think you were using the spelling Arbëríshte (with an accent and a final -e), which is still a redirect to Arbëreshe right now. Your new article is at Arbërisht. Which spelling do you prefer? With or without the "ë" with diaeresis? With or without the acute on the "í"? With or without the final "-e"? Or is the final "-e" actually also an "-ë"? That's eight possible variants, or sixteen? We should make sure that the article itself is at the best spelling (I personally would guess Arbërisht is just fine), and then make redirects from all the possible variants.

A second point is the relation in scope between your Arbërisht article and the already existing Arvanitic language article. Right now, your text makes it sound as if both were actually the same thing - but if that was the case, we should only have a single article for both. My suggestion is we should reword it to make it clear that your new article really deals only with the dialects in Italy, but that the same name is also used as one of the native names of those in Greece, and that both are of course very similar but have seperate articles (for sociopolitical reasons). Would that be okay with you? If you want, I can take care of making the necessary links and disambiguation tags.

Please let me know if you want any help, and welcome again! Fut.Perf. 20:44, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Made a few modifications along the above lines. Hope that's okay with you. Fut.Perf. 21:21, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and by the way, I see all those copyright warnings above. Please do take these seriously, as Wikipedia has a policy of being very strict about respecting copyright. Please take some time to study the relevant policies. Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions about how to make sure your pictures and texts don't get deleted. Fut.Perf. 22:30, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi

Arbërisht is actually correct, the í is for pronunciation but isnt needed. About rewording it to make the distinction between Greek Arberisht and Italian Arberisht, yeah go ahead! Thank you

Hi, I have moved the article on your language to Arbëresh language. Is that OK? --Tēlex 22:45, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
If I can I introduce my opinion, I remember an arbereshe writer who spoke of his language ("la lingua del cuore" "the language of the heart", he called it), he called it arbereshe. Even if they identify quite a lot with Albanians in general, and often simply call their language Albanian. --Aldux 23:28, 23 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Camp05 handsonshoulders.jpg edit

Thank you for uploading File:Camp05 handsonshoulders.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:19, 25 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 72.88.37.67 (talk) 13:19, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
