SSAI Board of Directors Page

discospinster,

you have deleted a page that took alot of work to compile. i do understand the reason you have deleted this at all, i am developing a work about the history of the Seacoast Shores Association (SSAI), a not-for-profit group. I would greatly appreciate it if you would restore this so i can continue my work on it.

Y.B.C. committe deletion

this article was still in production and the group is by no means a "social club" or other unnecessary article. I would like to add more 3rd party resources and include more information and links so that i could make the page a legitimate wikipedia article, but i cannot do so without the source code. I spent hours so far on the article and it is not completed, but i had not thought of saving the source code on my computer before publication on wikipedia. I was too excited. Subdued commercial interests

Dear Discospinster,

I sincerely appreciate the charity of your personal donations to Wikipedia AND the enormity of the job you guys have to do in general. Maintaining the purity of Wikipedia's presentation is admirable and respected world wide.

My comment relates to your fair and consistent deletion of the links to Cytonix and Advanced Liquid Logic (ALL) from the list of external links on the "Digital microfluidics" page. However, my contention is that the "professors" remaining on the list are in fact BIG businesses themselves. The Duke group is behind ALL, and the Harvard Weitz group, the UCLA, Chicago, Planck and Toranto groups are all big players in the commercial world. Certain of these groups actually buy fluorinated coatings from us and claim to be on the verge of multinational commercial success in going public with their companies.

So, I urge you to address this significant issue with your Wiki colleagues.

Sincerely,

Jim Brown/Cytonix —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesfbrown (talkcontribs) 23:10, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

External Links Policy

Dear DiscoSpinster, thank you for your kind suggestions regarding external links policy. With a bit more time next week, I want to browse Wikipedia having this in mind before offering any, hopefully useful, suggestions. It may well be that the current policy is in fact self-consistent and as it should be:) Sincerely, Jim Brown —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesfbrown (talkcontribs) 13:07, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Lotus Effect

Dear DiscoSpinster, I've made substantial, and I hope valuable, revisions to the Lotus Effect page, but I don't know what to do with the commercial interests that are there...Dockers, Nano-Ware and the Gap, for example. My company could reasonably list here, but, is it the right thing to do? We have manufactured superhydrophobic coatings for over 30 years...long before "nano" was a buzz word. Sincerely, Jim Brown —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamesfbrown (talkcontribs) 00:30, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Dear DiscoSpinster, thank you for the generosity of your time in providing helpful suggestions. The invitation to submit a notable page is also appreciated. I am assembling a new page, with considerably more preparation this time, that I hope will meet Wikipedia’s high standards. Also, as you kindly suggested, in editing pages containing information about which I have an interest and expertise, I will make every effort to maintain a respectful and neutral point of view. Dear Discospinster. I responded to the speedy deletion tag placed on the Choral Arts Ensemble article as soon as I discovered it and contributed to the talk section of the article within minutes. Ida L. Reed Homestead Deletion

You deleted my contrib "Ida L. Reed Homestead" based on "blatant copyright infringement." Number one, I wasn't nearly finished editing the page. Number two, and most importantly, wvreed.blogspot.com is my blog!!! I don't believe I can infringe myself, but I do want to be careful not to do so, as it does sound painful.

I am new to contributing to Wikipedia, and am not pleased that I spent time on an entry just to have it quickly deleted without any discussion. If this is how things "work," I won't bother wasting further time with this. Did you have a serious interest in Ida L. Reed, or do you just troll around, randomly choosing a contribution to mess with? I definitely will be even more skeptical about what is posted to Wikipedia. The Theory of Island Biogeography

Books don't redirect to their subject. I'm not going to dignify this by giving an example. If something doesn't fit the speedy deletion laws replace it with a prod tag. Or, if you like, write an article yourself as you suggested. Richard001 (talk) 05:57, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

It's pretty much irrelevant how long it has existed. Despite Wikipedia's 'rigorous self-scrutiny', the Seigenthaler vandalism remained for a wee while, didn't it? My point-to-take-on-board is that you shouldn't just remove a speedy tag because it doesn't meet the criteria; you should replace it with a prod tag if speedy isn't appropriate. Nobody is going to object to this so it's pretty much a done deal either way. I had a similarly titled redirect deleted a year ago with no problems. Richard001 (talk) 23:00, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey...

So, you're the one who deleted my article on Pokemon: Den of Ages...

Why isn't it of significance? I find it's an interesting game and people need to know more about it...

The site doesn't offer the kind of information I gave and I can totally cite my resources given the time...

I think it's easier for the people who do play this game to come to it's wiki page and figure out how it works... I can elaborate on some things...

Other than that, I feel like it's just a prejudice. I did model the page after WoW's page, for fear I'd get it deleted for not being informative enough, and it still got deleted...

Please write back...

I find this super unfair, and I have read about your edit history and the other complaints you've received...

I can make edits if necessary... I just spent too much time on that Wiki just for it to be deleted...

I am cross you didn't even bother as to actually spend the time explaining, surely you are able to do so? maybe the wrong templat was used and maybe I should ahve finished it completely before comeing off line but there you go, I will be submitting again, please leave the page alone if you do not understand it or be so kind as to ask questions, as I understand from others you normally at least offer advice, which in fact would have been so gratefull recived seeing as the instructions here are rubbish and very difficult to understand and make sense off.

If there was anything else there other than the lyrics could you restore it without the copyrighted material? Thanks Sillyfolkboy (talk) 22:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Okay fair enough. To be honest i'm sick of seeing page after page of random album tracks with two lines written and a link to the album, that's completely useless! I'm pretty confident i can find notability as he played it on the monkees show and it's been covered by this mortal coil with chart success. Malankara association

Hello Discospinster,

I will tell you the reason why the 'Malankara Association' page I have created should not be redirected to 'the Jacobite Syrian church'.

The Malankara Association is governing body of the 'Indian Orthodox Church, consisting of elected representatives of the church. It started in 1876. The church constitution has clearly defined the composition and representation of the association. . This was later amended in time with Supreme Court directive.

The Malankara Metropolitan, who is also the Catholicos, presides the meeting and the bishops having administrative charge of Diocese shall be vice-presidents of the association. In 2002,the Jacobite Syrian Church of India, which was earlier a part of the Indian Orthodox church and now under the control of Patriarch of Antioch, claimed that their local leader was the real Malankara Metropolitan, and wanted re-election .Thus The Supreme Court Of India ,ordered that the association should be held at a time and place which would also be decided by the Supreme Court Of India. The Supreme Court also appointed JUSTICE V. S. MALIMATH,as the obserever of the association , to ensure free and fair election from both sides .But on the day of the Malankara Association ,the jacobite faction, didnot come and they formed their own association called 'Jacobite Syrian Christian Association' at a place called Puthencruez. Thus the Supreme Court declared that the Malankara Metropolitan was properly elected ,and that the association should be always presided by him.

From this you may clearly understand that the Malankara Association ,is the association of the Indian Orthodox Church. Therefore please do not redirect it to the Jacobite Syrian church.I ensure you that I shall expand the article as soon as possible.Arun V Roy (talk) 05:00, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
