Wiki edit

Just a reminder, it is an English Wikipedia policy to not Wikilink dates or years. Most people take a little while to figure out the policy differences between different wikis, that's ok. Just wanted to let you know. I've created this handy guide for new editors to help.--PlanespotterA320 (talk) 00:27, 8 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Regarding this edit summary, remember to be WP:CIVIL. Yes, I misentered the URL, but that does not excuse rude and disrespectful comments. — MarkH21talk 16:35, 17 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

January 2020 edit

Hello, I'm Iryna Harpy. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Ottoman Ukraine seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I will assume good faith on your behalf as you are still new to Wikipedia, therefore would not have had time to become familiar with the many policies and guidelines we 'sign up voluntarily to follow. As your area of interest is evidently Crimea, Crimean Tartars, and Muslim subject matter in general, I can see how you managed to unilaterally decide to change "Ottoman Ukraine" to "Khan Ukraine". Did you actually read the article? It is about the Cossack perspective, ergo the WP:QUALIFIER for the WP:TITLE follows the subject of the article. If you wish to contest this, you are welcome to start an official Request for comment, thereby engaging the Wikipedia community as to their opinion. The reality is that you don't have a leg to stand on. Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:22, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Здравствуйте Вам, Devlet Geray. In all honesty, I overreacted, for which I sincerely apologise. We have a lot of users who know how to work the system and my immediate reaction was not charitable. As I expressed on the talk page, after I'd cooled down a little, I understood it to be an entirely good faith move. The redirect is staying in place. Best wishes. Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:39, 6 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Devlet Geray, this is an example of your inexperience. Please read the the vandalism policy careful, and be mindful of how you speak to other users. I'll be the first to admit that I deserved a bit of shaming after being so rude to you, but {{diff2|934473524|this is unacceptable]] as an edit summary. Believe me, there are some genuinely nasty editors out there who are ready to do battle with you as soon as look at you. Such edit summaries can be construed as casting aspersions on another editor, a personal attack, and uncivil. I hope we've aired the closet, so to speak, and that we can move on an work collaboratively in the future. For all the furore, I have a lot of experience and know my way around Wikipedia policies, citations, research, etc. If you ever need someone to call on, feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, or ping me from another page. Kind regards. Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:30, 7 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

March 2020 edit

Please do not attack other editors, as you did at Devlet I Giray. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. The edit summary f***, are you so sick that you still keep track of my contributions? i know that this page is not in your watchlist was inappropriate. Keep your edit summaries civil.MarkH21talk 08:17, 11 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Why do you revert my additions of Cyrillic to Crimean Tatar-related articles? The language IS officially written in Cyrillic since 2014. Heepman1997 (talk) 10:58, 18 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Encyclopedia Iranica is a renowned peer-reviewed source and is well within Wikipedia's standards of WP:RS. Removing it just because you don't like seeing it (per your own edit summary, calling it "propaganda") is WP:TENDENTIOUS editing.[1] Do not remove it again.
