Mauricio Navarro edit

Hola, removí la categoría de árbitros chilenos de Mauricio Navarro porque el renunció a su nacionalidad chilena y adquirió la canadiense. Por favor, no lo adhieras más a ella. Gracias.

List of weather records edit

I have issues with the sources you have provided for the Chile records. The first, http://www.mherrera.org/temp.htm, does not claim to be the official national records, and appears just to be a sampling of local records. I'd prefer if the record was from a more official source explicitly stating that it is a national record.

Second, while I'm not fluent in Spanish by any means, http://met.dgf.uchile.cl/clima/HTML/BOL_ANT/JUNIO02/junio02.htm does not appear to have any claims about an all-time temperature record at all! I'd appreciate your clarification on these issues. -RunningOnBrains 17:44, 19 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

April 2008 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to 1982 invasion of the Falkland Islands‎, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Narson (talk) 14:39, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

That is something you shoudl take to the talk pages and get a consensus on. However, equating the two sovereignty changes will likely undermine your argument as they were very different situations. There are differences between the two and that should be recognised, though I can understand that the title for the 1833 article is indeed imperfect. I'd propose some alternatives to that talk page with a cogent argument as to why and get some debate going. Narson (talk) 15:02, 4 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cyttariales edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Cyttariales, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Leotiomycetes. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:40, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of El Canelo edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article El Canelo, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.

People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! No content in Category:Gangs in Chile edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Gangs in Chile, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Gangs in Chile has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Gangs in Chile, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Chilean region categories edit

In case you didn't notice my reply here: your comment could be construed as oppose any renaming, but if you believe that the main category is correctly named, wouldn't you logically be supporting renaming of the other category and the article, which are currently inconsistent with that? Valdivian temperate rain forests edit

Hi, Dentren! You wrote to the Valdivian temperate rain forests article: "Chile's national flower, the Copihue (Lapageria rosea) is an invasive species that grows in altered parts of the Valdivian rain forest." Invasive species is usually understood as a non-indigenous species able to aggressively occupy space from native plants. However, according to the Copihue article and taxonomic databases (like GRIN), L. rosea is a native chilean species. Do you mean it is a pioneer species which occupy sites disturbed naturally or by man? Krasanen (talk) 21:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

You are right, I mean pioneer species. As far as I know the Copihue grows disturbed areas (both man made or naturally), or in forest that are not to shadowy. Dentren | Talk 14:12, 10 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Just noticed your edits to Andean volcanoes. One thing though, ranges and volcanic arcs/belts are two different things. Volcanic arcs, belts, etc are geologic features and mountain ranges are geographical features. If you are making anymore of these edits please add them separate like the other volcano articles, thanks. Black Tusk (talk) 02:35, 16 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Patagonia template edit

Hi;

I just wanted to know why did you remove Chile's region template from the article Patagonia. I added that template to make the article more consistent throughout. As you can see, the Argentinian section, does have a small template. So tell me, is there any compelling reason why the Chilean section should not have its own? Likeminas (talk) 13:21, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is a mather of article style traverse templates are most often in the end of each earticle and not inside it. To have template there gives less fluidity ot the reading. If there any side-template or lateral template that does not cross over the text zone it would be better. Dentren | Talk 13:24, 8 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
You got a good point there. Unfortunaly, there's not much to chose from.
Do you know how make a small lateral template? It would be very useful for many Chile-related articles.

Igneous Rocks edit

Thanks for putting the igneous rock template on all of those articles - it looks really useful! Do you think it should have an ultramafic section added? Awickert (talk) 19:24, 25 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

The template could cover even more rocks.. Maybe and ultramaic column could be added but im afraid the template can soon became to big and complex, just as the rocks are... do you know how i can add backgroud colors to the wikilink so that mafic rock gets a black backgroud and felsic redbackgroud? War of the Pacific talk page edit

Dentren I know you edit a lot of history pages regarding Chile. So I wanted to ask your opinion on an ongoing disagreement that has kept the article War of the Pacific staled for a while now. The disagreement is as to whether Bolivia declared war on Chile or not. Lots of sources backup this claim, however, another version says that the decree of May 1st enacted by the Bolivian government –which was in fact a rupture of relations-, was interpreted by the Chilean government as a declaration of war.

Ushuaia, of course edit

Yes, Argentine IPs (especially 201.255.223.193) can be quite tiresome. (Your revert of his recent edit was quite justified.) But saying that the Argentines are ganging up on you doesn't help your argument. The rest of us are perfectly capable of recognizing Argentine bias, which is one of the reasons I got involved in the article in the first place. (When I was visiting the area, the Chilean military presence was quite off-putting -- but after reading about the Beagle conflict, I understand it completely.) I just wish my two favorite S. American countries could bury the hatchet -- without burying it in each other. :-) Elphion (talk) 19:56, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
