I only just noticed this rename request after you did it, but as per the fresh water article (and its talk page), "fresh water" is a noun, "freshwater" is an adjective. Hi! After I read your message I checked, and I found that on Merriam-Webster freshwater is actually both a noun and an adjective, but that's US usage: in British English is "freshwater" used? Scotland uses British English. Even if the move was superfluous, would the reverse move not be equally superfluous? In any case, if you feel strongly perhaps you could take it back to CFD? Hi! Just to help on this question. We do infact use the wording freshwater in the UK not fresh water, which would generally be used when saying such as "This is fresh water". to use fresh water when refering to rivers and Islands in the lochs would be incorrect. I spend a lot of time diving and doing underwater photography in Scottish Freshwater Lochs and rivers. I have accordingly placed some external links to freshwater & UK environmental agency websites on the Fresh water article, redirected List of fresh water islands in Scotland to List of freshwater islands in Scotland and sorted the category Category:Fresh water islands of Scotland to Category:Freshwater islands of Scotland as well as the associated linked articles. I've thought about it, but don't know if it'd be worth it. Aside from User:SndrAndrss's repeated attempts to drag his knuckles up to his keyboard so he can insert incorrect event dates all over the place despite the ample verifiable evidence contradicting him, no-one seems really interested in contributing to past years. No point in a formal Wikiproject if there's only two or three members. Seems a shame, but then Wikipedia's full of teenage troglodytes only interested in the here and now. Historical records are reserved for Britannica, which explains the lack of so much as a stub here for multiple RAC Rally winner Roger Clark until I created one, but an entire well-populated category of professional wrestling moves. Proton

Funny why you can't accept the criticism, which is the truth. I as a ex-Proton owner know about it especially the car quality. You can't denial the Proton Iswara is still using the based chasis and engine from the 1985 Proton Saga. Even Proton themself accept the criticism and said they will try to improve. And you know that Lotus is bought by Tun Mahathir Mohamad and Proton is the pride of the country. Why the Waja is RM60k, and Honda City sold in Malaysia is RM80k but only RM50k in Thailand? Why Honda City get more duty & tax compare to Waja which pay less than 10% of tax from their total value? There were no direct facts but Malaysian know it. I don't need to prove that they're reliable, as I'm not bitching about the cars (or saying they're any good either). I'm merely ensuring that the article is only about the car company itself, and not about one particular editor's bad experiences with one or two individual cars.

If you want to write something encyclopedic, you could do better than to search Google for two minutes. You could end up with "According to the first quality survey of Malaysian automobiles by global marketing information services firm J.D. E39A 6th Generation Mitsubishi Galant VR-4

I would like some input on expanding the 6th Generation E39A Galant VR-4 section. Another notable omission is that of the four wheel steering (4WS) similar to the 3000GT VR-4. Notably highlighting trim/build differences in the USDM version, different bumper, different headlights, lack of hood vents, different intercooler. including the inclusion of numbered badges affixed to the dash, and matching numbered key fobs. Available in only four colors. Another interesting tidbit is cruise control on a manual transmission.

Is there any information that we can offer from GalantVR4.org? There are a ton of original scans and technical info, including 3D cutaway views of the WRC Rally Galant VR-4. The E39a 6th generation just about needs its own sub-page.

Interesting piece of info came up in a thread regarding the origin of the Mitsubishi "Evolution". There has been a long running debate regarding the Galant VR-4 being called unofficially the Evo-Zero which has now become the Pre-Evo. This came from rumors that a version of the Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 was produced with the "Evolution" title. One of our users offered the following information in a post. It contains a quote from published literature.

Mitsubishi did officially produce a limited run of 500 'VR4 evolution' cars for public consumption in 1991-1992. Basically it came with all the RS goodies (16g, 510cc injectors, 4-bolt LSD etc.), but also all the luxuries (climate control, power windows etc.). You could say this was the first GSR-spec evolution. A lot of these cars have ended up in Aus/NZ it seems .....

Another piece of evidence, if you like, quoted from 'You and your Mitsubishi Evo' by Andy Butler (pg 13-14):

"....and then on the Greek acropolis rally the Galant VR-4 evolution appeared on the scene. This car boasted more power to test its more competent chassis, producing over 300BHP from its 4 cylinder, 16-valve motor. Easy to spot as the 'cooking' version, the Galant VR-4 evolution gained a bigger intercooler as well as a louvered bonnet....."

If possible could alternate English units for the statistics on the page be included in parentheses?

World Rally Championship 2006 results

Hi, was there a reason why you reverted the changes to this page? I thought the improvements were quite useful. This page looks bad when the tables are stretched to full page width, especially on widescreen displays but also on normal 4:3 displays greater than XGA resolution. Why did you revert those changes with no explanation in the edit summary? Andrwsc 19:48, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Because there are 34 pages of resultsfrom 1973, all of them following the same rough stylistic template, and the anonymous user (who had made no other contributions) changed two without any discussion or consensus and left the rest as they were; I reverted back to the consistent style followed on the rest of Template:World Rally Championship results. And I didn't explain it because I used popups, which fills in the edit summary automatically.

And for the record, as I recently mentioned on another talk page, 60% of internet users have a screen size of 1024x768, and there's as many using less than that as using more (see here and here for confirmation). Going on about what looks good at 16:9 or greater than XGA is only discussing what one in five Wikipedians can see.

So, I'm reverting again to restore a consistent style. If you want to revert, make sure you do all 34 pages instead of just one or two. But I'd recommend you discuss any changes at Wikipedia:WikiProject World Rally. Among the members are the two editors who came up with the layout in the first place (I wasn't one of them, I only copied what was there). I'm quite happy to follow the will of the majority, but let's (a) follow due process before making blanket changes and (b) be consistent throughout. --DeLarge 20:32, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Ok, fair enough. I am a strong advocate of consistency myself. When I get some time, I shall update all 34 pages. I viewed the pages again on a 1024x768 display, and they look bad there too. There is far too much unnecessary whitespace to the right of the manufacturer and driver names, even at XGA resolution. My goal is to format pages so that they look good for all Wikipedia readers, not just 4 out of 5.

More importantly, the table headings don't make sense. The "Events" column heading appears above the lists of manufacturers and drivers, which is clearly wrong. That label should appear above the list of event flag icons. Andrwsc 21:38, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

A word about the EPA size classification system

Classification of vehicle sizes by interior volume: it sounds great, but it doesn't work. I can prove this by using this example: say there's a hundred-foot car with the interior volume of a Honda Accord. Based on the EPA size classification system, it would be classified as a midsize car, which is what it classifies the Accord as. But since the car is 100 feet long, doesn't that seem like a bit of a stretch?Hondasaregood 15:10, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I never once offered any approval or endorsement of the EPA's methodology, so getting me to agree or disagree is irrelevant. The bottom line is that the organisation with the responsibility for classifying cars by size in the United States define the RL as mid-sized. Calling it full-sized is contradicted by a reliable source.

You are of course welcome to lobby the EPA directly if you think their system needs revising. Their contact details are available on their website, and if you choose to follow this route then I wish you all the best. Hi, I had asked for the deletion of the above named articles. Instead, would you consider moving them to what might be a more suitable section of Wikipedia. As I stated earlier, the articles mostly consist of my personal views, along with references to people and events in Rearcross over the past few decades. I must admit that I would hate to see them disappear entirely from the project. If a section exists that might be suitable for the articles in their present style, I would wish to have them relocated, if at all possible. I have received many e-mails from overseas, with the correspondents'[all with ancestral connections to Rearcross], stating how much they enjoyed reading them. The articles were written, mainly, for emigrants from this particular corner of Ireland.

Would you please delete the articles "Rearcross" and "Rearcross Hall" or, alternatively, move them to what might be a more suitable section of Wikipedia. The deletion notice presently accompanying the articles is, frankly, annoying. Surely, you must have something better to be doing with your time that interfering with articles of limited interest. In fact, outside of those who have connections with the place, they are totally irrelevant. I have absolutely no interest in the contents of your entries, and wouldn't bother wasting time over whether or not they were suitable for Wikipedia. No-one else has contributed to the articles mentioned, I was simply using other usernames earlier. I am asking for their deletion or re-location. I can't delete it, I'm not an administrator. However, please note that blanking it, as you have done, will not lead to the article being deleted, but staying in the database as an empty page. The deletion notice is necessary, as it adds the page to a category, Articles for deletion. If you keep removing the notice, you remove the page from the category and it will never be deleted. Autopista AP-7

Hello, you listed the article Autopista AP-7 as needing translation due to a section that describes exits and is predominantly in Spanish. Are you referring to the names of the exits in the tables, though? I doubt that anything would be gained by translating those as they are the names of towns, etc. If it is some other part, could you please put a more detailed description of the part you would like translated on the translation page? Recreation of deleted {db-attack} material and other edits

Hi, and thanks for your comments. User:Yeahsoo seems to be an angry young Chinese POV pusher. From his edits so far I doubt that he can adapt to the NPOV at Wikipedia, since he is both very biased in his editing, and - judging from his English abilities - unable to understand the fine points of WP:NPOV or other rules at Wikipedia. Maybe it would be best to find a Chinese speaking editor/admin to talk to him. But so far I don't even know if he speaks Cantonese or Mandarin-- Chris 73 | Talk 23:42, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

(from User talk:Quarl) I flagged Kajima as {{db-attack}} yesterday and you subsequently deleted it, but it was recreated by the same user today. I've flagged it again for the same reason (and it has subsequently been deleted again before I could finish posting this). As can be seen by the user's contributions, he has an overt anti-Japanese agenda, and has been inserting links and contents to various corporate articles (Mitsubishi, Toyota, Xerox, Honda, etc) intended to disparage them.
He had previously made identical edits under the IP 207.168.191.2.
His initial edits were reverted by another administrator, User:Chris 73, who I will also contact. I then reverted the next round of edits yesterday. I plan on adding the {{NPOV0}} or {{comment2}} template to his talk page, but in case he's in this for the long haul I wanted to be in the position of knowing that my next round of reverts have the endorsement of others, especially at admin level. Kajima has been deleted twice as a {{db-attack}}, so obviously your idea of what you think makes a neutral article is being disputed by more experiences administrators. It's not up to other editors to add "good" facts to balance the page. It's up to you as the author to create a NPOV article in the first place. Clearly you failed in this.

As already pointed out on your talk page, every one of the major manufacturers has had to recall 1m+ vehicles annually. It's a routine part of vehicle maintenance now. The trouble is that you insert it into only one article -- Toyota's -- giving it a dedicated heading, and represent this as a "quality issue".[4] It clearly isn't. It's an unremarkable piece of service and support for car owners. It only becomes remarkable when, for example, Mitsubishi Motors does something stupid like trying to hide faults for 25 years, which is against the law. And that gets a mention in their article. See the difference?

Ironically, the page you link to displays both the mooted title and the current one (see sidebar link), and clicking through either the logo or the sidebar directs to "FIA European Rallycross Championship".[5] Also, as can be seen at World Rally Championship, Formula One, World Touring Car Championship and most other pages in Category:Auto racing series, on the English Wikipedia we tend to follow the recommendations of the Naming conventions: "Names of Wikipedia articles should be optimized for readers over editors; and for a general audience over specialists." So if you'd like me to move it, European Rallycross Championship shall be its destination. Okay, the common English name for the series all over Europe is European Rallycross Championships (s = as there are three European titles available) or the ERC. I did not know about the English WP Naming conventions, in the German WP we prefer the official titles. Fair call, and probably a better use as a Category. Being the original instigator of the template, I was hoping it was going to link "tuners" from around the world. I didn't think it would be used for advertising.

Good catch on the TVUnetworks Infobox. I stared at both it and the Infobox_Company documentation without seeing that rogue "_city" in there. • Your edits contravene several Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles guidelines:

1. Do not use thumbnails in infoboxes, and keep the image to 250px.
2. Do not replace a perfectly acceptable image with one where the subject is behind a large pole.

• You seem unaware that vandalism has a very specific definition on WP.
• Comments like "get a life" on a user's talk page are indicitave of a lack of civility and a failure to assume good faith.
