Is there a source for this? A Georgian (talk) 12:42, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

@A Georgian: Yes, there is a source for this, and I'm sorry that I did not insert the reference in my edit there. You can find the source for the kab (alternate spelling kav), which is an old liquid and dry measure equal to the volume of 24 eggs, meaning, 14 of a kav equals the volume of 6 eggs. See the Appendix (Appendix II - D.) in Danby's translation of the Mishnah. You can access it here, Section "D. Liquid and Dry Measure". There, it says explicitly that 1 log is the equivalent of 6 eggs, and that 4 logs is the equivalent of 1 kab. This would mean that one-fourth of a kab is equivalent to the volume of 6 eggs.Davidbena (talk) 18:38, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Outline of Jerusalem edit

I noticed that you created the Outline of Jerusalem.

A couple years ago, it got moved to draft space, and renamed to Draft:Outline of Jerusalem.

Would you mind taking a look at it?

It would be cool if that became an article in the encyclopedia again.

Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   00:40, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I would be happy if you could work on it and re-post it. It was moved to draft-space only because of a technical issue that involved my temporary ban on posting articles or making edits that might be construed with the current conflict waging in our country.Davidbena (talk) 00:47, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
What was the technical issue? And what is the current status of your ban?    — The Transhumanist   01:01, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can appeal the ban which is currently still enforced. I believe that sufficient time has already passed for me to appeal the topic ban. Someone who saw the article thought that it violated my topic ban on the Arab-Israeli conflict. At the time of posting the article, I thought that I could avoid discussing the issues relating to the conflict by mentioning historical sites that are important to both Jews and Arabs. The specific problem was that the article called for the name of the government of the city, and since the city is contended by both sides, by mentioning the name of the government it was viewed as a violation of my topic ban.Davidbena (talk) 01:24, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Why were you topic banned, and what topic were you banned from?    — The Transhumanist   05:48, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am currently only partially topic banned from writing about political and military issues relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict. I can still make edits on pages with the ARBPIA tag, so long as it is a historic edit and unrelated to politics and to military conflicts between Israelis and Palestinians. But even so, this has to be approved by a mentor. My original topic ban happened so many years ago, and, if I recall correctly, it was because of a conflict of interest between another Wikipedia editor and myself whom I felt was hounding me. This has since been resolved, but the vestiges of the original topic ban in the ARBPIA area are still in place.Davidbena (talk) 12:28, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I think this discussion should end here. Please do not make any suggestions to other editors about this draft as that would be a violation of your topic ban. Thanks. Doug Weller talk 14:23, 3 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
