Proposed deletion of Okefenokee Oar edit

The article Okefenokee Oar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable "trophy"

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello edit

Now that the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Okefenokee Oar debate is over I just wanted to welcome you to Wikipedia. Even though we were on opposite ends of the debate I want to say that you are doing a great job with the article and I hope you continue to contribute to Wikipedia. I just added the non-free use rationale for File:FloridaGators.png, scroll to near the bottom of the page to see what I did. Without that the image will keep getting removed. If you have any questions feel free to drop me a line on my talk page. Happy editing J04n(talk page) 14:13, 9 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi! I'm happy to help. To see what I did to keep the gator logo from being deleted click on the logo, that should bring you to File:FloridaGators.png, from there scroll down and you will soon see a box labeled 'Non-free media use rationale - non-free logo for University of Florida' then one 'Non-free media use rationale - non-free logo for Florida Gators', the last one is 'Non-free media use rationale - non-free logo for Okefenokee Oar' by adding that box it is 'legal' to use the logo on the page Okefenokee Oar. Make sense? Now to add another picture I assume your problem is that you found a picture of the oar on the internet and tried to use it but it keeps getting deleted because there is no 'free use rationale' for it. Reading this Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline may help you understand but I admit it is confusing. To get a 'legal' picture you will have to either find one at Wikimedia Commons or take a photo of the oar yourself. I hope I helped. J04n(talk page) 23:48, 13 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Nomination of Okefenokee Oar for deletion edit

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Zeng8r (talk) 14:55, 11 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Okefenokee Oar Florida side blade.JPG edit

Thank you for uploading File:Okefenokee Oar Florida side blade.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 13 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
