Discretionary sanctions alerts edit

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in COVID-19, broadly construed. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Did I receive a sanction or it's just a warning? Datafiller (talk) 17:17, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

It's really not a sanction or a warning, just a notification. Please take extra caution to follow guideline/policy while editing in these areas. Firefangledfeathers (talk) 17:34, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I will do that, thank you Datafiller (talk) 17:42, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

August 2021 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages (including user talk pages) such as Talk:Ivermectin are for discussion related to improving (a) an encyclopedia article in specific ways based on reliable sources or (b) project policies and guidelines. They are not for general discussion about the article topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. — Shibbolethink ( ) 16:15, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't know if you can read what I posted on your profile Datafiller (talk) 16:21, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

As they have replied the answer is yes they can. And you need to read out policies.Slatersteven (talk) 16:29, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I noticed, thank you Datafiller (talk) 16:33, 26 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Subsequent comments on the appropriate page edit

The appropriate page would be Talk:Bret Weinstein, but do not be surprised if others collapse or remove your comments as duplicative. We have had so many conversations about that topic, and every time the consensus has come out the same. It is a massive waste of time, and that is why we should not continue having it repeatedly. — Shibbolethink ( ) 22:25, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Shibbolethink I see, thank you. Datafiller (talk) 22:27, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
