Gusle edit

Hi, Daffy2.
In Slavic languages, the word "gusle" is a plural form (singular form 'd be: gusla). That's why all the text in the article is referred in plural, when talking about the instrument. Kubura (talk) 07:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Well, it's plural in Serbian and Croatian certainly, but I changed to singular because it's singular in English and the article is written in English. Daffy2 (talk) 22:52, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, would you be so kind as to give us support! edit

Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. I've just read your profile and saw that you're a learned person interested in (small) languages so I guess that being from a minority helps you understand what's the situation of the other minorized languages and cultures and maybe I am not bothering you and you will help us... I'm part of an association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to that moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Supporting us will be like giving equal opportunity to minorized languages and cultures in the future! Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care! Keep on preserving your culture, country and language! Slán agat (sorry I don't know it in Welsh!). Capsot (talk) 13:37, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oxbridge edit

Hi Daffy2. I noticed you changed the opening from "is a portmanteau" to "is a blend". Are you sure that's correct? Of course, Oxbridge is generically a blend, but isn't it specifically a portmanteau? - Pointillist (talk) 17:27, 11 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

After further thought, I believe that both these terms are helpful, so the lead now reads Oxbridge is a portmanteau (morphological blend) of ... I hope you are OK with this, but if not please can we discuss either here or at Talk:Oxbridge. Thanks - Pointillist (talk) 22:10, 11 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
