Family opera initiative

Hi, I just contributed to the AfD debate for this article [1] and have edited the article itself to remove some of the more glaring format and linking problems, as well as flagging up other problems that need to be addressed. It is fine to add references from publications that are not online, provided they are from what Wikipedia calls reliable sources. In fact, this should be a priority to establish notability. (Note that blogs and self-published web sites are not suitable as references for that purpose). Anyhow, if the article/review etc. is not online you need to provide full bibliographic information so that it can be found in a library. Here are a couple of examples:

• Pearson, Hesketh, Beerbohm Tree: His Life and Laughter, Methuen, 1956, p. 97.
• New York Times, "Opera Star Asks Divorce: Marguerita Sylva Files Suit Against B.L. Smith in Miami", May 2, 1929, p. 4.
• Wasserman, Adam, "Changing Definitions", Opera News, December 2007, p.60.

• Update: I've now completely re-written this, something I don't do unless I think an article is worth saving. I've also added more references and formatted the others. It will probably survive the AfD discussion. But, please read the comments on the article's talk page before making any further edits to it. You might also want to review the documentation and copyright status of the accompanying images you uploaded to Wikimedia Commons:

• File:SG GK Chopping off Gawain's Head.JPG - Here you claim "own work by uploader", yet list the photographer as "Arthur Elgort". You are the uploader, but it is not your own work. Did Elgort give you permission to release his work into the public domain, meaning that anyone can use it, even for commercial purposes without paying royalties, and can modify the image in any way they like? Note also that once an image is released into the public domain, the license cannot be rescinded.
• File:Fireworks-design-drawing.jpg - Here you claim "our own files - we own the image", but you don't state who "we" is, I assume it is FOI. Simply because they commission an artist or photographer to create an image, it doesn't mean that they/you own the copyright to it. In virtually all cases, the creator of the image retains copyright. Has Michael Comlish given you permission to release his work into the public domain and all that it implies? There's another problem here. On the FOI website, the artist who created that image is listed as "Kelly Hanson" not "Michael Comlish" [2]. Do you have his/her permission to release it into the public domain?
• File:FT PublicityPhoto, Aronson-this face.jpeg - ditto re the photographer, Daphne Youree.
• File:Animaltaleswiki.jpg - "Artist rendering for the show" What show?, When? Produced by whom? You list no copyright license either. Unless the creator of the work, Franco Colavecchia, gives his permission to release his work into the public domain, it will be deleted from the Commons.
• File:3 Astronauts cover.jpg - I note that as with the Colavecchia poster, the OTRS permission is pending. This one can be quite problematic. The artist, Eugenio Carmi, must agree to release this image completely into the public domain. If he puts any restrictions on it, such as "no commercial use", "educational purposes only", or "cannot be used outside Wikipedia", then it will be deleted from the Commons.
