WikiProject:Adventure games edit

Hey, good to have you on board. I changed the wiki name as you suggested. I've been working extensively on List of Sierra Entertainment video games, good call moving it all there in the first place! Really need to do major work on that Sierra On-Line topic but damn me if others keep coming along that I think I need to work on first.Klytos 00:49, 5 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

I plan to be a broad adventure game project, but looking at the Sierra games alone I've seen more than enough work. I have just been tagging Sierra's lately, but everything is fair game (Kryandra, LucasArts, the Accolade games etc.) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Klytos (talkcontribs).

MobyGames edit

Cromag,

I have seen several reasonable comments you have made about MobyGames. There is a problem though: there are now more than 6000 links to MobyGames articles most of which have been put in by a small number of editors, some of whom are clearly linked to the site and the majority of which seem to be inappropriate... see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Spam#mobygames.com. You are clearly a sensible kind of person: so what can we do about this? We don't want to blanket remove or blanket include... can we get a work party together to review them? You have already stated your rules on Mathsgeeks pages and they seem ok to me: how can we get them used in practice? --BozMo talk 10:03, 8 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

casi belli edit

I've been thinking for a while that "casus belli" must be wrong in the plural, but couldn't find anything on it. I hope your edit is right, it sounds about right anyhow :) Gatoclass 00:15, 17 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

No fair use rational on Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg, by TenPoundHammer (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg is an unfree image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days (CSD I6).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:42, 27 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use disputed for Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Papa November 11:58, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free media (Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:DavidBallThinkinProblem.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 00:58, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:JohnnyCashHelloImJC.jpg edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:JohnnyCashHelloImJC.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Discussion on linking to streamed copies of albums edit

Wikipedia policy allows us to link to legal streamed copies of albums. It would be useful to draw up a guideline on how and when to link to such albums; however, there is concern that it may not be appropriate as the music would not be available in all parts of the world. Is the benefit of having access to the music for most users outweighed by the fact that some users will follow a link to find the music is not playable in their region? Your view would be helpful at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Albums. SilkTork ✔Tea time 02:04, 16 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Better source request for File:JohnnyCashBitterTears.jpg edit

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 23:17, 18 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
