I did not delete it as "not notable"; I deleted it as "notability not asserted". The difference is that one passes judgment on the topic, but the other passes judgment on the article.

Quite frankly, the article as presented was... well, it was a mess. There was nothing in there that actually said anything about why this race matters to anyone. Furthermore, it looked VERY much like it had been copied from some external site (which - believe me - did not help).

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have an article about that race. I'm saying that we shouldn't have that article about that race.
