August 2022 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to 2022 United States Senate election in Missouri, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:33, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have done no research other then looking at the sources already cited. I also doubt it is McElroy, but it can not be ruled out Cookiegator (talk) 21:42, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
What source calls it a "threefold endorsement"? That is the text you added, and I don't see it in the sources. Creating an endorsement box for McElroy with a Trump endorsement was not an appropriate read of the sources. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:43, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
An endorsement box titled "Unclear Eric" is even worse. We do not have to use these templates, they are aides for presenting lots of similar information in a compressed format. When something is unclear, it requires explanation in prose. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:51, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
A duel endorsement implies that it could only be applied to two folks threefold means it applies to three Cookiegator (talk) 21:51, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Obviously I know what the word threefold means. I asked what source actually called it a threefold endorsement. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:52, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
On other pages I have seen something to the effect of won't endorse Cookiegator (talk) 21:54, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
We have sources saying those people specifically declined to endorse. Trump made a confusing and unclear statement that requires explanation a template cannot handle. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:55, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't think the word threefold has to explicitly be used Cookiegator (talk) 21:55, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I don't think trying to make it fit in a template is appropriate. How are the readers better served with a box that says "Unclear Eric" with only the one Trump endorsement in it, and no explanation of what that means? It should be explained what happened. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:57, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then do I what I did and make a template Cookiegator (talk) 21:56, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

What? I literally just explained why I think it shouldn't be in a template. You're not making any sense. ― Tartan357 Talk 21:58, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Cuz it's quicker then a whole paragraph also I think the term "unclear eric" is pretty self explanatory Cookiegator (talk) 21:59, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
Our articles are not designed to be "quick" to such an extent that people don't have to read complete sentences. We seek to provide robust knowledge here, not tidbits. That article is already embarrassingly short on complete sentences. It is not self-explanatory, either, this is a very unusual situation. ― Tartan357 Talk 22:01, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
But I think making things unintentionally hard is not a good idea. Anyway I doubt I will ever edit Wikipedia again if simple stuff is this confusing Cookiegator (talk) 22:04, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I see nothing "unintentionally hard" about a few sentences in simple English explaining what happened. ― Tartan357 Talk 22:05, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I ment long Cookiegator (talk) 22:07, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I do not mean this harshly, but if those four sentences are too confusing and long for you, then your English reading level may not be what is required to edit here. If English is not your first language, you might wish to start out on the Simple English Wikipedia instead and work up to writing here instead. ― Tartan357 Talk 22:14, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

I have no issue with long stuff, only unnecessarily long stuff Cookiegator (talk) 13:48, 3 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
