The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Welcome!

Hello, Comosport7, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Damian Dark, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Robert McClenon (talk) 03:22, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Damian Dark

edit

The article Damian Dark has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references. No evidence of notability. Does not even clarify that this is a fictional character.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Legends of Tomorrow. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. DonQuixote (talk) 15:46, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of Arrow episodes, you may be blocked from editing. DonQuixote (talk) 15:56, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at List of Arrow episodes. DonQuixote (talk) 16:00, 17 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Damien Darhk Wikipedia listed at Redirects for discussion

edit

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Damien Darhk Wikipedia. Since you had some involvement with the Damien Darhk Wikipedia redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Adam9007 (talk) 01:10, 18 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Vegas Golden Knights

edit

Thank you for you contributions to the Vegas Golden Knights. However, there is already an article on the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft as well as details in the 2017–18 Vegas Golden Knights season on the subject you are adding to the page. For an example of how other expansion teams have shown their details on the expansion drafts, read Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets, etc. to see why I have removed your list. Hello. Please do not ignore warnings on Wikipedia. When there is a big warning that clearly says "NO FUTURE RANKINGS HERE. NEVER POST RANKINGS AHEAD OF TIME, ALWAYS WAIT FOR THE OFFICIAL WTA RANKING UPDATE", just do not ignore it. It is rude, it is wrong, it is disruptive. Thanks.—J. M. (talk) 18:50, 11 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Please use accurate edit summaries instead of "Added more."

edit

Hello. Many of your edits have an edit summary that are inaccurate and misleading. "Added more." is not an accurate edit summary when you just change something (and the changes are often questionable or even wrong) without actually adding anything. Edit summaries are helpful to people browsing an article's history, so it is important that you use edit summaries that accurately tell other editors what you did. Feel free to use the sandbox to make test edits. Thank you.—J. M. (talk) 17:44, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello again. I am replying to your question on my talk page. As far as I understand, WP:ES (BTW, the page contains everything you need to know about edit summaries) says that edit summary is "good practice", not something that is strictly required for every single edit. For example, when you are making a minor edit to a section or reverting vandalism, I think the default prefilled summaries (like the section name or "Undid edits by XYZ...") are OK. You don't have to explain every single detail. The edit summary just should not be empty, and it should not be inaccurate either. And I don't think you don't now how to do an edit summary. In fact, you were making good edit summaries when you were posting the questions on my talk page. :-) See [1] and [2]. It's just a question of putting something meaningful into the "Edit summary" text box. For example, when you are changing the ranking, the edit summary can be something like "Ranking update". When you fix a typo, it can be a "Typo fix" etc. It's quite simple, actually. :-) —J. M. (talk) 21:44, 13 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Ben Lively pitching for the Phillies on Father's Day.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 12:01, 14 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Ben Lively pitching for the Phillies on Father's Day.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Ben Lively pitching for the Phillies on Father's Day.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Please stop making disruptive edits, as you did at Joe Manganiello.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. Was the note about not adding films not in production unclear? DonIago (talk) 04:15, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I suppose the page is now fixed thanks to Ytfc23 (I think it was the redundant linebreaks and the broken table). If there is something I'm missing, let me know. Thanks.—J. M. (talk) 12:01, 23 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
