Monobook edit

They do interfere if the new "edit options" is loaded before my tab function...if you have a main() function that loads "onload" that loads all other functions, make it load last and remove the "onload" from the bottom of the "edit options" script. Likely you do not, so just move the "edit options" script down. As for the "April 9" bug, I fixed that; I was missing nowiki tags. Thanks for pointing that out.Voice-of-AllT|@|ESP 06:22, 19 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ancient Greek Wikisource edit

I understand from your userboxes you're interested in Ancient Greek. I've submitted a proposal to add an Ancient Greek Wikisource on Meta, and I'd be very grateful if you could assist me by either voting in Support of the proposal, or even adding your name as one of the contributors in the template. (NB: I'm posting this to a lot of people, so please reply to my talkpage or to Meta) --Nema Fakei 20:07, 24 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Cp Wikipedia error2.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Orphaned non-free image (Image:Cp_Wikipedia_error.PNG) edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Cp_Wikipedia_error.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. As I said in the discussion above, feel free to delete it. --color probeTalkContribs 09:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Motto of the day edit

Hello, I notice you're using one of the {{motd}} templates, run by Wikipedia:Motto of the day. You may have noticed that some of the mottos recently have been followed by a date from 2006, or on occasion simply "Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia". The reason for this is that Motto of the day is in some very serious need of help. Participation in the project, which has never been especially high, has dropped considerably over this past summer, to the point we have had several days where no motto was scheduled to appear at all. Over the past several weeks, I've been the only editor scheduling mottos at all, but there aren't enough comments on some of these mottos to justify their use. If we do not get some help - and soon - your daily mottos will stop. In order for us to continue updating these templates for you, we need your help.

When you get a chance between your normal editing, could you stop by our nominations page and leave a few comments on some of the mottos there, especially those that do not have any comments yet? This works very simply; you read a motto, decide whether or not you like it, and post your opinion just below the motto. That's it - no experience required, just an idea of what you personally like and what you feel reflects Wikipedia and its community. If you do have past experience with the project, then please close some of the older nominations once they've got a decent consensus going. There are directions on the nominations page on how to do this.

If you have any questions, please let me know, or post on the project's talk page. I'm looking forward to reading your comments on the suggested mottos, and any additional suggestions you'd like to make. Until then, happy editing! Hersfold (t/a/c) 01:42, 4 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please read this before you get all upset edit

I noticed your page User:Color probe/Template/Archive1 in the Category:Template loop warnings. So I had a look. And after making a change to User:Color probe/Template:Infobox template it did what I had expected it to do. And I was very happy. Until I saw User:Color probe/Template.

Let me explain. Your template User:Color probe/Template:Infobox template shows templates. That was a very neat idea, and you worked it out perfectly. What I didn't notice at the beginning was that you had made it specifically for the templates in your User:Color probe/Template:name_of_your_template collection. So I changed it to show any template.

At this moment I could of course undo the whole thing, especially since I now know the reason for the template loop that originally was the object of my attention. You can't let a template have a look at itself within the technical atmosphere of Wikipedia programming. But I thinkI would do you a greater service by pointing out the great possibilities that your work has.

You could of course undo my one and only change to User:Color probe/Template:Infobox template. Then you would have to change accordingly, of course. The template loop in User:Color probe/Template/Archive1 can not be fixed, so you could either restore it to its previous state as well and keep it as a reminder for posterities sake not to make template loops, or just delete it.

Alternatively you could change User:Color probe/Template:Infobox template a little more (remove the word "template" in front of {{{1}}} twice and then your template could show anything on Wikipedia. If you choose this alternative you'd have to add the text "User:Color probe/Template:" in front of all the names in yourpage User:Color probe/Template. Even in this case, though, thetemplate would not be able to show itself, in all likeliness, so for User:Color probe/Template/Archive1 there remain thesame alternativesas before, or you could have it show anything you want, even e.g. the {{name-example}} it is showing now in order to avoid the template loop.

The second possibility appeals very much to me, since my mindset likes abstraction and generalisation. However, this is your work. If you would like me to restore everything the way it was, or make the changes I showed you could be made to make your template generally applicable, please let me now. On the other hand I have no doubt that an experienced user as you will be able to do either of these in 2 minutes.

Message regarding your use of the No Multi License Template edit

In case you are not aware, the Wikimedia Foundation has proposed that the copyright licensing terms on the wikis operated by the WMF – including Wikipedia – be changed to include the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license in addition to the current GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) as allowed by version 1.3 of the GFDL. The community has approved this change with 75.8% in favor, and on June 15, 2009, the change will take effect.
You currently have {{NoMultiLicense}} on your user or user talk page, which states that your edits are licensed under the GFDL only. On or before June 15, this template will be changed to reflect Wikipedia's new licensing terms. If you accept the licensing change, you do not need to do anything (and feel free to remove this message); if you do not accept it, we regret that you will no longer be able to contribute to the encyclopedia. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)#NoMultiLicense template if you have any comments.

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014 edit

Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.

Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open! edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
