Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 15:10, 30 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising. DMacks (talk) 21:46, 30 November 2021 (UTC) Please explain what "promotion or advertising" I am conducting? - my edits provide links to external, relevant pictures, of objects held in the Science Museum Collections, with associated facts from the same source t support the articles? Cnotrees (talk) 07:37, 1 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your sole goal here (both by behavior and your own explanation) is to add links to a certain website/organization, and with the stated intent of promoting that website/organization's internet presence . You repeatedly emphasize the museum's holdings, rather than only focusing on the encyclopedia article's content itself. DMacks (talk) 13:40, 1 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add direct links to items in a museum collection in the body of an article as you did here, here, here. Citations should be used to verifiy content, not redirect readers. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 14:27, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

My apologies but these are references to pictures of objects that are relevant to the article text. In the case of Delia Derbyshire, it illustrates the type of object she used for sound effects, so I would suggest it verifies the content. We are looking into copyright issues for uploading the pictures into Wiki Commons Cnotrees (talk) 14:33, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
You may want to read up on what Wikipedia is and how to reference articles and how to verify the content. References are not for taking the reader to further content. They are citations of third party reliable sources that support a prose statement in the article. Fountains of Bryn Mawr (talk) 19:06, 2 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
