Regarding your article edit

Regarding your edits to Claudio Edinger: It's my impression that you are supposed to, if you are the subject of a wikipedia article, to discuss changes on the talk page of the article instead of editing the article yourself. I see that, however, the talk page to your article is empty except for a wikiproject banner. I put a "conflict of interest" tag on the article anyway. --I dream of horses (talk) 20:02, 18 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

May 2009 edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Claudio Edinger. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. June 2009 edit

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Claudio Edinger, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. THE AMERICAN METROSEXUAL 18:52, 1 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Addressing the potential for a conflict of interest edit

I would like to draw your attention to Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#Autobiography which addresses some of the matters that have been raised by editors to the page Claudio Edinger. I would ask that you please desist and look to comply with the guideline. If you have concerns over the nature of the information on the page, then we should look to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons and if no success, then escalate to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. -- billinghurst (talk) 12:36, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please leave the COI tag in place - you clearly have a COI as the subject the article and until it has been sufficiently reviewed for neutrality, the tag should remain in place. Also, while editing with a COI is not prohibited, the most sensible course is to discuss the changes that you wish to make on the article's talk page first. If you are going to edit the article, please use edit summaries and preview as a courtesy to other editors. Thank you. – ukexpat (talk) 17:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Claudio Edinger, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. ukexpat (talk) 17:49, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Username edit

I see from your previous interractions with another user that you are not, youself, Claudio Edinger. That being so, your use of his name as your username is not allowed in wikipedia. I accept that you did not know this; you do now. Please change your username in the immediate future, or I will be obliged to prevent you from editing. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 11:47, 7 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

This account, Claudio edinger, has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia, because your username does not meet our username policy.
This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it—see below.

Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, misleading, or related to a 'real-world' group or organization. Also, usernames may not end with the string "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username. To do so, please follow these directions:

  1. Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can usually still edit your own talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far more easily allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.
  4. Alternatively, you can "abandon" the contributions under this username and create a new account, which is much faster and easier, especially if you have few or no edits.
Last, the automated software systems that prevent vandalism may have been activated, which can cause new account creation to be blocked also. If you have not acted in a deliberately inappropriate manner, please let us know if this happens, and we will deactivate the block as soon as possible. You may also appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below or emailing the administrator who blocked you.
