for some reason, someone named Schmaltzer feels compelled to change the story how the founders of Cinelerra came into possession of Cinelerra.Org...now, I know all of you are way far away and it seems easy to continue to lie aboutt something you had nothing to do with...But, Richard Baverstock gave myself and Adam Williams the rights to cinelerra.org since the loose group of amateur hackers had done nothing to the site for years before it was given to us..if someone wishes to actually discuss this over skype or in person, if person, I will be happy to clear this problem up to everyone's satisfaction...your ongoing war with the founders of Cinelerra does nothing to help where the help is most needed, with the Founders of Cinelerra....now, if you wish to reach out and deal with this professionally, feel free to let me know via an email at michael.collins at cinelerra.org or mike at lmahd.com k??

Request reason:

my comment indicated no legal action nor legal threat. I was merely asking a wikipedia user 'schmeltzer" to contact me so we could discuss professionally the charge that this user has written repeatedly in the same space (and then we correct) that the website cinelerra.org was "hijacked". If anything, the term "hijacked" is a pejorative and could easily be construed negatively at the Founders of Cinelerra --- Adam Williams and Michael Collins --- who are now in the fully legal possession of the website which bears the name of the software project they founded almost 20 years ago. To our chagrin, we did not gobble up all of the websites which bear the name CINELERRA as we were more focused on actually developing and releasing the software. There are multiple sites which have been squatted on and despite many requests, they do not give the sites back to the Founders. This was one site which was offered back to us by the person who originally scooped it up. The website had been largely dormant for multiple years when we we given it. Since we took it over, we have maintained despite multiple issues and even being hacked recently by unlawful people. Therefore, we respectfully request that you remove the block and restore the commentary we submitted, over and over again. Thank you for your kind cooperation

Yes, your comment did indicate a legal action (quote: Collins is very open to discuss it here in Wikipedia or legally). Also, another problem with your account is the username which is in clear violation of our WP:Username policy. You clearly have a conflict of interest regarding Cinelerra and Cinelerra.Org, and according to our WP:COI policy you shouldn't be editing that page at all. In order to be unblocked, you should:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I would point out that the username of this account appears to be a violation of WP:USERNAME as it appears to be the name of a website, an organisation or a product. This is a different issue from the legal threat issue, but should be taken into consideration. Peridon (talk) 10:58, 19 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

1.I did not know the user name violated the terms of the page. I stand corrected. I will re-apply any changes under another sign-on name. I am a Co-Founder of Cinelerra who first began my contributions to Cinelerra in the early 2000's, when many of the current users knew nothing of Cinelerra. Therefore, I know the history and am better suited to make observations on Cinelerra than anyone who claims any association, which the current commenters on the page clearly do, as well.

2. I unambiguously say that I do not intend any legal action in this question, whatsoever.

3. The person identified as Schmaltzer who continues to state that the website Cinelerra was "hijacked" is associated with a group which identifies itself as "Cinelerra-CV". So, if you would ban me from any contact with the page, this user Schmaltzer should also be banned, as well.

4. Finally, identifying someone as doing something which could be called "hijacked" is unlawful as we were by Schmaltzer. Hijacking is a legal term which is offensive and identifies someone as a street criminal or someone "hijacking" a plane. This type of language should never be used on Wikipedia. The website was given to the founders of Cinelerra, Michael Collins and Adam Williams by Mr. Richard Baverstock, the person who originally squatted on the website name, Cinelerra.Org. Schmaltzer may not like how the website is portrayed now, but, it was dormant for over two years when we took it over in late 2013. https://web.archive.org/web/*/cinelerra.org But, Schmaltzer nor anyone else from the users club of Cinelerra have never contacted the founders nor did they attempt to work with us when we invested a great deal of money and time and paid an engineer to create a harmonious inviting Git-Hub type site.

Lastly, thank you for your kind consideration and fair discussion. I appreciate it very much.

Thank you for withdrawing your legal threat. You still need to propose a username and accept the topic ban. PhilKnight (talk) 02:15, 22 September 2016 (UTC)Reply
