Roodeplaat Dam

edit

I have reverted your change to the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry name on this article and wikilinked it to the existing article. I understand that the department name has changed, but it will be better if we link to the old Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (South Africa) until such time as that article is renamed. By doing so, the link will still work through the redirect to the new article name and we can easily pick up that the Roodeplaat article needs to be updated with the new name. --NJR_ZA (talk) 07:41, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, a complicated matter as cabinet apparently intended to have a Department of Water and Environmental Affairs but then changed tack in late July 2009 and created a separate Department of Water Affairs (its original name dating way back) and a Department of Environmental Affairs, both under one minister, the Minister of Water Affairs and of Environmental Affairs. At one stage in the 1980s the Department of Water Affairs was the Department of Environment (sic) Affairs for a while. All this creates an interesting challenge for anyone trying to write a tidy history. Chronoplast (talk) 11:59, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh well, it's South Africa, name changes are just one of those things we need to live with and work around --NJR_ZA (talk) 12:03, 17 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
