Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of both an account and an IP address by the same person in the same setting. How do I change previous edits made with an IP address to my username?

Please help me with...

Before creating an account, I made some edits that I would like to be attributed to my username, not my IP address. There doesn't seem to be a way to be able to do this easily. I have tried to re-edit the comments to reflect my username, but this was changed back by another editor. Chriswillclark (talk) 13:40, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

To the best of my knowledge, you can't change the editor (IP or named) who made edits in the past. You can strike a signature on a talk page and insert your own signature. Ask for further advice at the Teahouse, a friendly help desk for new users. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:31, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Robert McClenon is right; there is no way to change attribution for an edit in page histories or the like. Regarding the revert, I've left a comment at AlexTheWhovian's talk page, but I think Robert McClenon's advice again is good: Instead of removing the IP signature, strike it (like this, created by this code: <s>this</s>) and add a comment along the lines of "This was by me", with your account's signature.
