I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

It seems that the issue has already been answered by C.Fred. I would insist you to go through the links in the welcome message he has left on your talk page. It is essential for you to understand how Wikipedia works and what to do or what not to do on it. Joining the teahouse would be a great idea. As regards the deletion, you were possibly creating an article on yourself. Now, this essentially creates a 'Conflict of Interest'. This is discouraged. Moreover, information has to be procured from 'reliable sources'. You cannot add information 'that you know'. You would have to add information from places where it has already been published. Hi C Fred thanks for clarifying. If it is an author page, of a published author, which is verifiable information, may I then still upload the page in a less "promotional" tone?

Yes with caution. Because it's autobiographical, expect it to be subject to increased scrutiny, particularly about tone and sourcing. Also, you must demonstrate that the subject is significant or important; I didn't see that in the prior version of the article. —C.Fred (talk) 16:45, 23 April 2018 (UTC)

@C.Fred: Christine Wild

Thank you so much for your information C.Fred. What qualifies as a "proof of importance" - I had tied the information back to the Amazon author page, and other workable website. Because writing is art, I always struggle with qualifying someone as "important" or "notable". If you have any further info, I would be grateful.

Proof of importance is reliable sources, and preferably sources that are independent of the subject—not her website, not the Amazon author profile that was likely edited by her (or her agent or publisher), not her publisher's website. As far as the definitions of notability, three to look at are notability of authors and creative professionals, notability of people (biographies), and the general notability guidelines. —C.Fred (talk) 03:31, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
