Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Chezza88. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Rory Stewart, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Jonathan A Jones (talk) 15:41, 21 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Another thing to add: Sharing an account between multiple people is not allowed. Per WP:NOSHARING, every individual should have their own account and if this account is not securely held by one person, it may be blocked. IffyChat -- 22:00, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Iffy: Rory Stewart per the New Statesman has confirmed that this is indeed the case: “That account has sometimes been used by me – I wrote my father’s entry – and inserted recent stuff about Rest Is Politics – it was however also heavily used by parliamentary office, leadership and London Campaign teams (and also at one point by mother!).” ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 22:05, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
