Speedy deletion nomination of David Katsujin Chao edit

Hello Chengdavid923,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged David Katsujin Chao for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Prestonmag (talk) 20:51, 21 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of David Chao edit

The article David Chao has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of DCM Ventures edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DCM Ventures, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because

  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. To take just one example of unsourced claims presented as fact: DCM partners with inspired entrepreneurs to build high-impact, global technology companies. Our team's global DNA and extensive industry expertise is foundational to maximizing the success of our entrepreneurs.—pure spam
  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Too many of your references were to the company itself or to sites that can be edited by, or just summarise data from, your company
  • it's all about what the company is selling, little about the company itself other than locations. How many employees? Turnover? Profits? Has the company ever received negative publicity? Who are its competitors?— as another editor put it "your articles and phrasing shows you aren't here to build an encyclopedia but to help future fundraisers or investments". • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.

I've deleted your biography of David Chao too, again it's more hagiography than encyclopaedia article Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:44, 27 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
