Being a chronic pain patient for over a decade, I know that what you included in your edit are some of the real world consequences of being on a Schedule II drug. That said, please be aware that what you posted are the consequences of some STATES'S laws, not any law made by the DEA or the federal government, so these circumstances (aka hoop jumping) may not apply to everyone. You may want to include this in your edit.
The DEA release made this very clear, and some of it I wasn't aware of until I read their complete decision (about 20 pages), despite the fact that I worked in pharmacy as well as dealing with chronic pain myself. Even though I am against this schedule change, I recommend everyone read the DEA decision; they even answered all the concerns included in the public comments submitted to them one by one. It is an incredibly informative read.
