Re: Drag racing link. edit

Maybe for the casual reader, but most people looking at that page are looking for more information and/or resources. Also, I am NOT the webmaster of that site, just a daily reader. The 3 pages that it was listed on are: Drag strip, Drag racing and 1/4 mile. I think it is just as relevant as any other outside link on this site for those topics. "Drag strip" because it has a list of drag strips as well as there locations and times ran there. Same thing in regards to "1/4 mile", which on wikipedia seems to deal exclusively with drag racing. Most of the external links on this site that I see our for further information which is how I view the provided link. Is there anything that I am missing from your point of view? I want to make sure things are done right. I do not think that the link will confuse anyone nor will it degrade the topic (it can only help). Please let me know. . . Merger edit

You wrote in April 2006: "Quarter mile into dragstrip, lots of overlap. Cdh1984 12:35, 27 April 2006 (UTC)" I think, without consensus or a roar from the crowd (pardon the pun), it's best to keep them separate, to close the outstanding discussion, and to remove the merge tags from each. Richard Klemme (AfD) edit

Hi, I see you have tried to list the article Richard Klemme for AfD. You need to create the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Richard Klemme as per step II of Template:AfD in 3 steps.--blue520 08:37, 28 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

done Cdh1984 08:48, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Just thought I'd let you know that I have "speedy deleted" Richard Klemme, which you listed on AfD. We have a list of speedy delete criteria at WP:CSD; in this case the article clearly met CSD A7. In future, you might like to bear in mind that you can tag articles meeting these criteria with {{db|reason to delete}} and they will likely be speedily deleted by an administrator! Thanks, UkPaolo/talk 09:37, 28 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Noise Music edit

Hello. You recently marked noise_music with an "original research" tag without explaining, with specifics, why on the talk page. I asked you this on the talk page, but you have not responded. I don't think the tag should be there without explanation. Can you explain? If so, please do so on the noise music talk page. Otherwise, I will delete the tag. Cheers, Doctormatt 20:00, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of American Hot Rod Association edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on American Hot Rod Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Donnie Park (talk) 17:57, 18 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

April 2015 edit

Hello, I'm Eduardofeld. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. E. Feld talk 14:19, 20 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://ahraonline.com/about/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Noah 💬 13:04, 6 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

November 2021 edit

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to French Algeria, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. M.Bitton (talk) 12:32, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on French Algeria. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. M.Bitton (talk) 12:38, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
