Hi there — I had to perform a revert on your edit to Villanova University because several edits immediately prior to yours were done by vandals. In reverting to the pre-vandalized article, your changes were eliminated. Please feel free to re-edit. Dppowell 01:50, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

April 2007 edit

A tag has been placed on Corey Fisher, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Umalee 01:40, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair enough. I've restored the article so you can add a rationale to keep it (and preferably, sources to establish the subject's notability). Please take note that restoring it is not an endorsement on my part to keep the article. I'll leave the final decission to another admin. Have a nice day! The article Corey Fisher has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. High school athletes are not considered notable. Wait and see if he does anything at Villanova, at least. History of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania edit

Hi there. I saw that you were looking to get involved in projects involving the History of Pittsburgh. I wanted to let you know that the History of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is currently a featured article candidate. Another user has done most the work on it, but when it failed FAC the first time I think he got discouraged and left. I am trying to make all the necessary edits to get it to pass this time. If you have a chance to take a look, make any recommendations, and either support or oppose its nomination, I would appreciate the input. Thanks PadreNuestro 01:42, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Villanova Wildcats men's basketball 2007-08 season edit

I wrote this over on the article talk page, but since you are the main contributor I wanted to make sure you saw this message. There is a precedent that college basketball yearly articles should be named with the year in the beginning followed by the school, and the nickname (see the articles in this category here). Unless there are any real objections or a good reason not to, the article should be moved to 2007-08 Villanova Wildcats men's basketball team. If you disagrees we should discuss it on the talk page, but if not it should be moved (I'll do it in a few days if no one else does and no one objects). Unreferenced BLPs edit

Hello Cavalcabo! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 937 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Tom Ingelsby - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Keith Herron - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

UPitt class editing Pittsburgh-related Wikipedia stubs edit

Hello, I'm teaching a composition course at Pitt that involves researching and writing about Pittsburgh neighborhoods. For one of the students' projects, I'm having them expand existing Pittsburgh Wikipedia stubs. Everyone is new to Wikipedia editing (including myself). We've had some help already from User:Piotrus, but he also suggested I recruit other editors working on Pittsburgh projects to help us. Would you be willing to give us feedback and advice as we move along? Our deadline is 11/22, and I'd love to have feedback for students by 12/6.

My course page is here User:Llh19/pittsburghcityseminar, with links at the bottom to the pages students are editing (6 total).

Let me know if you might be willing to help. Thanks very much for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Llh19 (talk) 02:15, 8 November 2010 (UTC)Llh19Reply

Pittsburgh event for Wikipedia's tenth anniversary edit

Hi! Since you're a member of WikiProject Pittsburgh, I wanted to invite you to the Wikipedia Tenth Anniversary celebrations we're having in Pittsburgh on Saturday, January 15. During the daytime, we're going to be having a photo contribution drive where anyone can bring in their digital photos or prints and Wikipedians will teach people how to upload them and add them to articles, and maybe introduction to Wikipedia workshops as well. Then in the evening, we'll have fun at the Carson City Saloon. There will be free Wikipedia t-shirts and other goodies, as well. See the Pittsburgh meetup page for more details. I hope to see you there!--ragesoss (talk) 14:43, 1 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:WikiProject Pittsburgh activity edit

Wikipedia:WikiProject Pittsburgh is rolling out some new features (see our discussions at WT:PITTSBURGH). We are also trying to determine how many members are active, and interested in contributing to Pittsburgh content or coming to our real life meetups to discuss Wikipedia in general. If you could go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Pittsburgh/Members and move your name from inactive to the active or semi-active group (depending on your interest in Pittsburgh issue and overall activity) groups, this would be great. Hopefully in a near future you'll also receive our first newsletter with various information on what we have been doing, and what useful tools are available. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 20:02, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Harold Jensen edit

The article Harold Jensen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:ATHLETE and WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TM 15:38, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Jalen Brunson image feedback edit

Given that you are the primary editor of Villanova Wildcats men's basketball, I thought you might give me image feedback at Talk:Jalen_Brunson#Post_IHSA_main_image_candidates. Last weekend was the 2nd time this year I took photos of Jalen Brunson and I am considering a new main image. Although I will be attending several 2015 McDonald's All-American Boys Game events, last weekend was the last time this year that Brunson will be my primary photographic subject so I wanted some feedback on the new images I have of him.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:27, 26 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Select Survey Invite edit

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_42RWH0qda5dFhmB&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 12:36, 17 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
