Outline of Catholic canon law moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Outline of Catholic canon law, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Let it be known that I think the article is helpful as is, and the topic already meets the "general notability guideline" due to other articles being about this topic--and should not be moved to draftspace. This is a list-style article. It doesn't need "sources and citations" because it is a list-style outline type article.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 16:16, 26 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
At this point in the discussion I am going to put this on the noticeboard.--Epiphyllumlover (talk) 15:56, 27 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
I agree with your assessment, although I wasn't going to move it, since I'm a bit biased (lol). Thanks! Canon Law Junkie §§§ Talk 01:32, 28 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't have time to actually contribute to the article, but I left links to the original civil laws (in English) from Vatican.va and VaticanState.va. I hope that's helpful to you! Canon Law Junkie §§§ Talk 23:08, 13 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Regulæ Juris, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Abrogation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Category:School of Canon Law

edit

Hi, I get it that there's only one such a school in the US. However, the English WP covers worldwide. Are there no such schools in other countries? If not, fine, but if there are, this cat should be renamed Catholic University of America School of Canon Law. CHeers! --Randykitty (talk) 14:37, 5 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Actually, it is the only "school of canon law". The technical term for an academic department of canon law is "faculty of canon law", not "school". Catholic University of America uses "School" because of the Anglo-American university "School" system, "School of Law" name convention, etc. Every other faculty of canon law is called Faculty of Canon Law, Institute of Canon Law, or some such similar name (cf. Pontificia Università Gregoriana Facoltà di Diritto Canonico, Canon Law Faculties and Institutes). Therefore I oppose the renaming as unnecessary. Fair enough! I hadn't seen your addition of Category:Copyright law legal terminology, since it was more than a week earlier. Thanks for including the explanation in your edit summary. TJRC (talk) 05:32, 14 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

2019 US Banknote Contest

edit
  US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
