Welcome to Wikipedia, Cabreet! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Uh-oh... that Garbage Plate image...

It's a nice image, but I don't see any GFDL license on it. I'm sorry, but it can't be kept unless you got it from a GFDL-licensed source, or took it yourself and agree to GFDL-license it. Either way, you have to say so in the image description. Dpbsmith (talk) 21:53, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

• I agree completely that this image looks better than the old one. Tasty, in fact. Unfortunately, if you got it from a website, the chances are it will turn out that it can't be used by Wikipedia, which has recently gotten very scrupulous about not permitting images under "fair use;" they must be properly licensed. I'm not familiar with Snapsoid, but if you could find the person who posted it and get them to agree to license it under the GFDL. I've managed to do this maybe once in four tries; if the person doesn't already know what the GFDL is, they won't usually agree. Any chance you can take a picture yourself? I strongly advise that you read WP:NPA. Now then, it's perfectly fine if you'd like to add a picture you took to the band's page. However to do so, Wikipedia requires that you release the image under a free license or into the public domain. If you do want to maintain rights to the image, Wikipedia does not accept replaceable images under the fair use doctrine (see the first criterion at WP:FUC). —ShadowHalo 09:22, 19 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi there, I saw your comment on the image's page, "I took the picture, it's a free picture that I created and I am providing. I own all rights to it". If by "own all rights", you mean that you wish to retain all the rights to the image, the image will most likely be removed since Wikipedia does not keep images with permission only for use on Wikipedia (this would violate Wikipedia's GFDL license.) However, if you mean that you own the rights but are releasing the image, you can replace {{promotional}} with a tag like {{no rights reserved}} or {{PD-release}}. A request for assistance

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 05:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).
