You enquired why User:Verbal made this revert of your edit. Please note that his edit comment directed you to WP:BRD. I believe that should answer your question. It is indeed normal to revert to longstanding form pending fuller discussion. You were quite correct to start that discussion on the article talkpage, but we have no deadline. Discussion need not be hasty, and may sometimes continue for years. The references that you proposed in your edit were to WP articles.
