Transit of Venus, 2012 edit

Your edits at Transit of Venus, 2012 have attempted to add File:2012 Transit of Venus from Shelby Township.jpg to the article. Three editors have removed the image because it is not suitable as the image appears to have been "enhanced"—it is not just a picture of an event, but is some artistic interpretation. That is not suitable for an article on a scientific phenomenon. You must not attempt to add the image again because there is a strict rule (see WP:3RR) which means editors can be blocked in circumstances like this. Obviously Wikipedia would grind to a halt if anyone who wanted a particular result could simply click "undo" until they got their way—that is not going to work. Instead, if you disagree with the image removal, you need to add a new section on the article talk page (Talk:Transit of Venus, 2012) and explain why you believe the image is suitable. Then a discussion can occur, and a consensus will determine the result. Johnuniq (talk) 03:28, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

June 2012 edit

Your recent editing history at Transit of Venus, 2012 shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. 70.49.127.65 (talk) 04:34, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Civility edit

Hi, Bugattijoe. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Civility and Wikipedia:No personal attacks. In dealing with other editors, you may find people with whom you disagree or find annoying, but please try to discuss civilly if possible and avoid insults or name calling. Thank you for your attention. -- Infrogmation (talk) 04:55, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Venus transit image edit

Hello Bugattijoe, please stop adding your image to the Transit of Venus, 2012 article. The number of images has been trimmed to six per region, and will be further trimmed to just six to eight images later on. I appreciate that you want your image seen, but you don't have a right to have it displayed just because it was uploaded. There were a tremendous number of images uploaded after the transit, and it would be impractical and simply unreasonable to show them all. If you want to make an argument for its inclusion, please do so on the article's talk page, but do not continue to add it to the article. Thanks. Huntster (t @ c) 13:31, 6 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Just letting you know that I changed the license of the new iJustine logo to public domain, because it is basically text, and doesn't meet the Commons:Threshold_of_originality. --wL<speak·check> 06:03, 24 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
