Stubs edit

Hello,

Thank you for your stub submission. You may wish to note that it is preferable to use a stub template from Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Stub types instead of using simply {{stub}}, if you can.

Thanks! Ryanjunk 16:56, 9 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I quickly review many articles and stub them if needed - preferring to leave a polish of the stub type to someone with more time/interest in this type of house work. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 12:06, 10 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

My RfA edit

I'm leaving this macrophage, a particularly hungry white blood cell on your talk page, I just finished a rewrite of its article and realized they're not so different from administrators, as they keep their surroundings clean, doing away with anything that's not supposed to be there...
Anyway, with that short lecture on cell biology done with, I'd like to thank you for your vote on my RfA, which passed with (49/2/0), I'll do my best to not let you down, and if you see me heading towards a common newbie mistake, please nudge me in the right direction :)

vandalism? edit

Hi again,

would you mind having a look at the Tessa Jowell main page please? [1]

Is this vandalism in your opinion? It's certainly in the wrong place and looks more like a political rant than a useful contribution.

I'd welcome your guidance.

regards,

john

Re: User:Karatloz edit

I still don't understand what the vandalism is. Are you referring to the poem he left on our talk pages? That doesn't make sense to me. Last time he left you a message, you thanked him and told him it was a lovely poem. This time, you blocked him for a week in what seems to be his first block. If he were to repeat, a long ban would not be appropriate, in my opinion. If you do not wish to receive these poems, have you considered just asking him to stop? A good second step would be a warning. A third step would be a 24-hour block. I don't see anything to suggest that such a drastic measure as a week-long block would be necessary to force him to stop. If his messages are not the vandalism to which you are referring, I would appreciate a diff or a link to a deleted page. In the absence of either, I do not see any evidence to support blocking this user. — Knowledge Seeker 04:49, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Haven't we all moved from this now? - you have unblocked him - and I am happy with that - and I certainly don't want any more "poems"! :) Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 10:09, 2 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Bruce Ruffin edit

I presume you do not like reggae, since you deleted the Bruce Ruffin page I had set up and was working on? Moleskin 07:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

I like Bruce Ruffin, his single "Rain" is one of my favourites and I was going to do an entry on it. Is there a problem? It is not so much the deletion, but the deletion within hours of me putting it there. Please restore it, thank you. Moleskin 12:18, 4 April 2006 (UTC) Hadn't heard of {{in use}} before. Can you restore it still, because I don't know how much I had put in. Thanks Moleskin 12:42, 4 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

User:Jack faux edit

Brookie, what is your experience with User talk:Jack faux? You've left him a "oh be-have" message on the talk page, but as far as I can tell from the contribution list, it seems he only vandalised after the message was left. I must have missed something...? (This is the first time an article I originally created was seriously vandalized...I'm feeling a bit hurt by this user!) --Stephane Charette 09:33, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Moonface Fisher edit

You speedied that page, but missed the others discussed on Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Austin_Purfleet. Take a look at the articles' content and edit histories, and you'll see they are all part of the same bunch. In fact, if you could figure out a way to in one fell swoop revert all the actions of our merry British hoaxers, that would be a big help. GRuban 16:24, 5 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kittykats page edit

Hi there, I am Kitty-kats mum.I appreciate that you try and help new users in page editing, which I am sure does help. But I just wanted to make you aware that kitty-kat is disabled and suffers from Autism this results in many difficulties in her life. She is unable to understand social aspects, comprehend or fully understand what is said. However she stores information like a computer as a result things are just put down in the same way as she heard it or visually saw it.Due to her only being able to process information in this way.Kitty-kats condition causes obsessive interests this page was one of these re beyblade. This Wikipedia page is a way of Kitty-kat to develop. However this will take time due to her condition and difficulties so small steps have to be taken on how to develop the way she writes information down for others to share. The changes did upset her as she views things one way.We did send a thank you for your help but it is also important that you understand the situation because when you send these notes to her kitty-kat does not totally understand what you are on about. Best Regards Kitty-kats mum

Surnames edit

Baffled :( edit

Hello Brookie,

Thank you for trying to help me add my image to the text on a page.

This was your message to me, but I don't kow what it means:

"Go the article page and find where you want the picture to go and then add copy the picture to the page (see this page edit for the code - easy. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 15:37, 25 April 2006 (UTC)"

I can "go to the artoc;e page", which is the Mattituck page, and I can choose where to place the image. But after that I dont know what to do. I don't know what you meant by "add copy the picture to the page" or "see this page edit for the code"

Thank you Wildflowers00

Hey Brookie, I don't particularly aspire to be an admin at this point. I don't have enough time to devote. Since when has Gary Burchell been a philosopher? As I am a Philosophy graduate, I probably know more than you might think! Red-top neologisms don't make an encyclopedia! If you want to have another go at the pieces please do so - following the guidelines. Use {{inuse}} for articles that you are working on. Good luck and be bold! 14:01, 9 May 2006 (UTC) Brookie

Skutterbug edit

Hello, mate. I was just looking at this page, and was about to put a {{Move to Wiktionary}} tag on it, when I saw that you'd deleted it under the banner of "nonsense." I'm assuming that you mean patent nonsense, and I was wondering why you think that this falls under that. I found it clearly legible and understandable (although a dictdef) and can't honestly see why you'd speedy it under that criterion. Could you please enlighten me? Thanks, Snoutwood (talk) 05:51, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It had already been tagged by another user and I agreed: it was nonsense! Certainly not a encylopedic article.Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 06:08, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
How exactly does that fall under WP:PN? It's not gibberish, so fails criterion one. It's not irredeemably confused (I understood its meaning entirely: it's a whore who doesn't like sex, to be brief), so it doesn't fall under criterion two. What else could it be? If it's just "not encyclopedic," I'd like to see that CSD. Undelete it and take it to AfD, if that's your druthers, but don't speedy under an invalid criterion. Snoutwood (talk) 06:19, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I disagree - but if you feel strongly about - do it yourself! The guidelines are just that in any case -not policy! Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 08:31, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
