Proposed deletion of Formula Builder for Microsoft Word edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Formula Builder for Microsoft Word, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable software product. Also WP:NOTGUIDE and WP:COI since the article was created by software author.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Response to Deletion Notice edit

I have made edits to address concerns in the deletion notice: COI 1) Removed reference links to the formula builder website and replaced it with an article by the staff at WebCPA (reliable third party source for accountants) 2) Removed link to press release 3) Removed direct reference to Brad Smith CPA, LLC as the developer in the first paragraph

GUIDE I'm not sure what should be changed here. The purpose of the discussion is to clarify why the product exists (to address certain weaknesses of Microsoft Word's formula capabilitiesd). My comments are backed by references Microsoft Websites. I also included a part to spell out what Formula Builder does not correct. If it would help to remove the last two sections of the article I can do that.

Another criticism cited is that it is non-notable software. I disagree. If you google the words "Word" and "Formula" there will by hundreds of links to sites with content on Formula Builder for MS Word. The software is used primarily by CPAs so it is more known at the industry level. The product has users all over the world.

I took great care in writing the article to stick to the facts and not make any superfluos claims.

Please do not delete the article.

As the article has already been sent to a deletion discussion, all comments regarding the issue should be made there. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 16:48, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
