Comments aimed at the bot may be answered more quickly if aimed at me. --ais523 12:47, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

If you have a comment about the bot, please aim it at the bot if it's currently editing or at me if it isn't; this will give the highest chance of your comment being answered quickly. --ais523 14:50, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Automated message to bot owners edit

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:41, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Query edit

I need help renaming about 200 articles. Doing this by hand would take me all day.

Can your bot rename articles, or be adapted to do so?

If so, please contact me.

Thank you.

Bot not active anymore? edit

It seems this bot hasn't been active in a long time. Is that on purpose, or can you restart it, please? — Sebastian 01:43, 6 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

It's usual for a manually-attended bot to stop operating when its owner becomes inactive at Wikipedia! I think it's rather unlikely Bot523 will run again, at least in the near-to-medium term. --ais523 15:42, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
